makes two of us.

Oh I can't see them now either. Huh, they must be changing their URL. It's a shame because they are amazing :)
I am going to start using this strategy..."wow guys, I just leveled up. This is the most awesome paintjob I have seen. What do you mean you can't see the picture?"...lol :)

Oh yeah, no I totally see them now. It's like one of those pictures where you stare at it and squint and unfocus your eyes and the image pops out at you... jerks -_-

Same here, also no show on the phone.

Demi, I have to admit I was disappointed in the Angel Giraldez book while the airbrushing is fine some of the brush finish I thought was a let down and no better than my own work. I'd hoped for a better level especially for publishing a book.

Demi, how are you hosting the pictures? I could see some from one computer but not another. When I click to open them in a new tab, the address is googleusercontent.com/(lots of stuff). If you're hosting it on your google account, perhaps the photos aren't public and only certain people have permission to see them.

By the way, it looks like CMON recently fixed their double posting problem with pictures. So if you upload them through CMON they shouldn't appear in the body and as attachments anymore.

Yeah, I noticed that too DR. It actually made me feel like maybe my own stuff is a little better than I give myself credit for :)

He is using Vallejo paint (hur-hur) but seriously Vallejo paint to me seems to lend itself really well to using the 'tooth' of the surface to create transparency/blends, like how you would shade with a crayon or pencil. I don't think these are as nice looking as a more carefully painted blend, but they are REALLY fast. Which is the other thing, he is doing production painting for Corvus Belli and it shows. Sort of a 'Eavy Metal effect. The other other thing is that it is very hard to match brush work with airbrushed blends. That makes it really hard to clean up those sketchy highlights or sloppy liners. The big chunky highlights do make the minis look very shiny at arms length though.

I think painting Nirvana lies at the intersection of quality and speed :)

Here is a shot that shows what I think DR is talking about. Some of the white highlights are pretty sloppy, but if you wanted to clean them up you would probably have to redo the whole blend because it so hard to match the AB'ed gradients.

Edit: This is Angel's work not mine vvv

To his credit he is not shy about sharing magnified photos.

I really want to get my hands on some com arts stuff because of the translucent nature when AB'd. I think it would really help with this style of mini painting. BTW, your infinity stuff is just stellar. It's made me go back and revisit his book and see what I can adapt to my Big Harley bust :)

Oh look, shiny pictures!

I like the development on the armor for the lady.

Quality and speed are a tough combination. One I am far far far from mastering. The Corvus Belli stuff may not be perfect, but it still looks really really nice. Blow up photos of any figure to 10 times the actual figure's size and you'll notice imperfections. Does it matter that they're there? If you can't see them in real life, isn't it good enough? Even if they're for box art or online photos, normally the final images are maybe 2 to 3 times the size of the figure.

If nothing else, it's nice to see that some of the people really are human. And maybe the end results are obtainable.

I found that too, I think there is a perfect time v quality for most people, its only personal expectation that govens that. Interesting, humbling and exciting if you're in the zone when looking at his book.

PHOTOS!

looks good and I would be happy to paint armies to Angel's quality. I thought it was a good look at an alternative method to the Figopedia book (which is drool worthy).
