I like the metal trim, you will have to get a lot of either grime or contrast into those recesses to make it pop. The damage, well that size of bust will require some work. Basic principal is fill the chipped area with a darker color (whatever you picture is under the paint, primer a dark metal, a dark wood) then highlight the bottom edge of the chip to help enhance it's depth. Ten you can added dirt or streaks or whatever to give it age or keep it newer with a brighter color in the center of the scratch. There are plenty of "sponge chipping" tutorials out there that you could adapt to this. BAM and his orks are a great source of inspiration and i have done a fair few beat up space marines. Less is more with this scale though
