Thanks everyone! Maenas, I actually almost finished the mini without understanding what the little skeleton was supposed to be! I thought it was a silly familiar or something, I actually contemplated cutting the whole thing away. Then I checked the concept art, and saw he had him on strings. Of course... I had to add strings! I wish I could get them more taut but I pulled them off when I tried, so this will have to do.

It's all about the Cryx. (No living)
Vennetrax (seen above) will get the medium base, the large and the small are for the mounted and unmounted versions of Darragh Wrathe (http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums...tly-dead-space&p=796466&viewfull=1#post796466). These are really nice bases, the are from the new CMoN/Micro Arts series. I've got a load of them. Only downside is that they sell one 50mm in a set with four (I think) 40mm bases, sucks if you need several 50mm and few or no 40mm.

No comment on the tail (except well spotted Diggs).
Your colour selection is great - do you base it in the box art or go your own way with the colour wheel/your gut?
In the short time I've been around your painting and particularly your blending have improved amazingly. Whatever you're doing is clearly working so keep it up!

Thanks Arch - I usually lean on the box art, but hardly ever copy it, that's too much hassle. For my Cryx guys, I've kept the steel/gold/green glow scheme they use on the box art, but on the cloth I've swapped the various greys the use with a blue green I highlight with warm grey. On other models I go a completely different way, I did that on a lot of the Brood. As for the blending... I've simply practised! 
I can say one thing In particular I've learned the past few months though, I've gotten a much better grasp on paint theory. Not color, simply how different paints act and how different mediums can affect them.
And I'm sorry Krule, I can't remember what I did. I think I started with Flayed One Flesh shaded with flesh wash, and I probably tinted it with something else, possibly a crimson wash. Then I am pretty sure some Karak Stone was mixed in at some point... And I finished it with Warcolor Warm Greys. It was an experiment, I was quite happy to make it work out on the first try.

Looking good so far. Those are nifty paint pot stands you have there. Did you make them or find them somewhere? I'm on the lookout for ideas - when my man and I find a house we'll have a hobby room so my paints won't have to live in a plastic box that can be cleared away if we have guests in the lounge.
