WOW really cool! I must confess that I thought of an octopus, but I discarded it because I did not manage to imagine how the "riding pose" will be handled.... but they got an interesting solution to the problem!

Also... I suppose that you have seen int, but still haven't worked on it, but anyway just in case.... mold line alert on the upper left tentacle near the tip of the thing.

Yeah I caught that line after looking at the pics. That's why many WIP pictures are great, the camera always finds what the eye misses.

Starting on the main body now, here it is all base coated:

Almost finished, only about 50 hours of painting left!

All the Deep Wars stuff looks really cool, kind of a different process than I employ, would take some time to get used to.

So here's one inside tentacle that was worked on. I'm not sure if I need to go lighter or not, maybe it will look different once the yellow skin isn't so dark.

And unrelated but, if anyone hasn't voted on my Chaos Space Marine, I only need three more votes to reach 50 http://www.coolminiornot.com/390506?browseid=13883103

Great figure to work on and I feel tricky as well, lots to think about here. The third photo has a blue tint, is this accurate or the photo ? If it's there then keep it, if not then aim for it.

The blue is just from the light/camera, I may have to try to work it in somehow.

Well for the second year in a row I'm going to put off doing my elk/goblin large scale CB project. I want this thing to be absolutely amazing and I can't give it the proper time it needs. So instead I think I'm going to bring my hoplite bust. I reworked it a little, trying to add texture to the cape and helmet:

Oh! I like it, it gives more depth to the overall work. Maybe some of the lines (very few of them) went on the thick side or a wrong inclination, but overall gives a really good impression.

I'm pretty far off on Dark Age! But for WoK, I am only missing one of the Kickstarter bonus figures (Iron Eyes or whatshername), so almost true. If I manage to churn my way through Warmachine now, I think I shall go back to WoK, so many sweet models.

Really like the texture on the cloak! the only place it looks off to me is on the edge of the fold on the right, where it's flipped over--the texture lines look a little blunted. But it definitely adds a lot overall.

Good catch on the that fold, I'll go back and fix that up. For now, I'm starting a new project, this will be for fantasy single. Pretty sure this will be my last one for CB so I'll have 5 total. I'm going to use a base I've built previously for another mini, I added a greenstuffed torn banner to get a freehand element in there. More on that later.

And don't mind the giant gap on his left leg, it's not actually attached yet, just blu-tacked. Also the mold lines will be taken care of post-paint with the gloss varnish trick.
