Wow 10! Just WOW!!! Every time you post a new picture it seems like you take this huge jump in skills. I don't mean to sound bad but it makes me feel like I'm standing still. lol! Absolutely wonderful! Rock on!

Thanks people - lovely comments!

Ive been working on various bases at the moment. This one is for Wolf, I had a NIGHTMARE with the water effect leaking. No matter what I did, aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Anyone starting a water base for the first time make sure you prep it 100% before pouring the resin. Thanks Skel, Andy and Milosh for the tips to stop it leaking.
Still needs some work to make the front look like rock and a few more trees etc.

Your bases realy are getting better and better mate. You gonna mount it on one of the wooden bases or keep it as is?

aha! some success with the WE at least, even if its just a little puddle :D nice! it can for sure be a bitch, you should have seen the panic i had when doing water effect on my ork display. as you say, be sure to prep the base bulletproof. twice!

damn right, you must have balls of steel to put water effect resin anywhere near a top paint job like that :)

Great base 10 and great skin tones! But I wonder... if you don't put the base on a plinth, wont it look small with the big barbarian on top?

cheers all. After looking at the photo for 10mins I might change the base :( - its all base and no mini I reckon.
It should compliment the mini but I think its overtaken it, thoughts?

I was thinking about this last night. The base is fantastic (love the fish) and the mini is shaping up to be fantastic. The union of the two is not working for me right now, he looks stuck on the top rather than being at one with the base. I guess adding some extra height to the base behind him (a tree for example) would change this illusion. Seeing if you could position him lower would also help. I'm positive there's a way in which the two fantastic things can come together better I'm just not sure what.

When I first saw it I could see him standing at the top of a cliff, surveying the valley below, sating goodbye to his village before turning into the forest to begin his quest! It's quite a pose! If anything stands out tho, does the base look to warm for the colder tones on his skin?

Ah, well, there's the tricky thing about pics... I completely lost the notion of scale there :S

Hummm, you're right: the base does take all the attention from the mini and I think johnynoi might have a point. If you don´t want to go for the cold, snowing scene, you could consider a less luxurious vegetation...

the base do look a bit big. and as said, colder colours would definetly suit the barbarian better right now but painting the guys "clothing" in warmer colours might do the trick.
