Thanks all, Alexandra - yes the shadows are a bit dark, on such a small mini the shadows around the face need to be over stated to get the shape of the face when looking at the mini at real size. But after saying that I have toned them down a tad

Bit more done. The eagle eyed of you will spot I have drilled the smallest gun barrel out in the world.

That is truly something. I really like the painting you are doing on her. I don't think you can really appreciate what you have done until you realize the true size of this tiny figure. really awesome work so far sir.

Yes, you're right. That's the problem with pics: they tend to distort the size of things.

Picked up this marine fella on ebay for £2. Great looking mini imo. Dont know his name (Dont know much about 40k). Not finecast but plastic showing what i said about GW improvement in plastic minis.
Changed the sword because the original looked silly. Finished the face (what you can see of it) and started on the robes. Will have to sharpen them up a bit + more contrast. They look amazing at midnight last night but a bit scrappy this morning LOL.

Looks great. I like your start on the space marine too. Can't wait to see how the rest of him turns out.

Nice. I am working on some 25mm minis as well. Didn't recall them being this difficult in the old days! :). Now where is the votey link? ;)

No need to do that, he looks perfect as is. He is a librian, so the armor is dark blue. The cream robes is also acurate.

He belongs to the Dark Angels chapter, so a little dark green, the chapter colour, here and there is also correct.

I just read through all 24 pages and you have some great work! I'm really impressed by the librarian so far. SO much so that I just ordered one from ebay!

The little knight mini is awesome too. Not just the sculpt but your paint job. Really lovely!

@ Krule - yep 25mm is a right learning curve LOL

@ Marjedi - I knew following all the others I would get the right colours :) - the blue just needs a slight wash of regal, its looks way to black in reality and to blend the highlights together I reckon.

@ pariahrob - what a compliment !! purchasing a mini after seeing mine. I will have to be on commission from GW..... oh wait I got it on ebay LOL. The little knight is a fav of mine, you can get it from Runic minitures website.

I have just finished painting the very same Librarian! I have pretty much inverted the colour scheme for mine (Not as well painted though I'm not afraid to admit). Bones armour and blue robes to help fit it in with a mates dark angel army. I'm going to give it to him for Xmas along with a Chaos lord for his other list. I'm such a great friend :p haha
Dont envy you with the 25mm though, mini looks great.

Sorry mate ive not been replying much.

Great bit of paint on the girl especially at that scale nice mini to boot.

Like the look of the librarian and good choice with the sword. Id push the glints on the armour up to white (tiny little dots and thinned right down) but hey thats just me fella.

do a big old base with some nids or chaos dudes on it.

Looking good mate. Atm though the blue looks as if it's made up of shadow and highlight, impo it needs some more definitive mid tone to make the transition smoother. Loving the face, robes and keys - a close up would be awesome. :)

Cheers for the kind comment everyone :)

@ skraaal - yep your right mate, no midtones! Ive had another go to blend things together.

Seen some other peoples painting of this mini with energy/light coming out of his hand so I had a go painting an 'energy ball'. Thoughts?

Looks better mate, could do with some more mid tone still though I think - regarding the ball, I don't like it as is, smooth the blends some more especially where the paper clips? meet the ball and it may work, otherwise just the OSL will be nice.
