Looks awesome - I love the face so far! My attempt at adding a knife sadly ended in tears :p

PS It looks like you'll officially be the first *Pie Fight!* entrant!

That's the fun thing about Christmas gifts: it makes you go to were you usually wouldn't go. Love the clown face, but being a Burton fan, I think it's normal... God job so far ;)

Cheers all
Finished the clown, a real xmas treat & fun to paint - thanks moonmin82 for a great mini
I added the knife and his teeth! The drum is a xmas decoration (quite fitting I think) LOL

And back on the marine, with lots of thought last night I decided the green sword was not up to scratch, so went with a nmm in the usual 10 ball style ;)

Great job! The base is rather cool indeed. I hope you don't mind but as the first "fan painted" Pie Clown (for loss of a better term!) I've posted a pic' on my FB page. You are the first official entrant to the Pie Fight painting contest. I can't wait to see more paint jobs

marine is coming on nice matey. I love the sword blade and the armour is nice and vibrant. The silver nmm on the shoulder eagle (?) could be crisper imo. Would make a massive difference to this mini.

Great work as ever dude.

Looking good man, although I still think that there are areas that need to be smoothed out a fair bit more. I've edited the image to show you the main places that I think will benefit. The contrast on the cloak could be pushed too, especially in relation to the shadows, I think you'd be safe to push it a lot further to really make him pop.

The outside of the blade is looking especially nice.

Hope this helps!

Happy new year, big thanks for all the feedback :)

Ive got a few projects on, so progress is slow. Repainted sholder as suggest and sword hilt (thanks skaaal). The cape is just an undercoat / wash.

Just taken an hour to read through this hole thread. Am so impressed by your quality of work, my mind is blown. Really looking forward to seein how you finish and base the Libarian. About how long does it take you to make your base's? They compliment your high skill at painting so well. Right off to read NMM guides.

Thanks Boycie for the kind comments, I love basing as much as painting. Depending on the size/quality of the base it can take anything from 1 hour - 10+ hours. Most of the time its waiting for things to dry.
Its a fine balance of base v mini, sometimes I get it wrong and the base overshadows the mini. With this marine im going just for a simple base.

much smoother matey. I can really tell the difference even though the amends were subtle. Kinda pleasing when you make changes and it really pops. Happy New Year mate.
