Lee you're aiming for a UK GD Squad entry with this aren't you?
Before you go any further with them stop and check that the light/highlight/shadow placement is consistent across them all.

It's fine having good looking single figures but the cohesion is made when the shadows match across the group. Doesn't matter if they are all looking the same way or not as long as they are all lit from the same point, for example the BFGunner if aiming straight forward placed side by side with Stracken would need his chest and gun shading and his back highlighting.
I'm saying all this cos I'd like too see you grab a trophy.

Drgonsreach has a valid point and also check if the models you put in is a legal squad as Skellets awesome horrors got overlooked as he had a sorcerer in the unit (bizarre as a sorcerer could summon them in the background material)

Thanks all :)
Wargames - Yep the BFG hinds all the details, thats the gun that comes with the mini and goes well with Straken. Yes I will be doing a comms & bearer.
Mike - I see what your saying and been trying to keep it in mind while painting but its not been 100% successful
I will post a pict of them together to see.

For a while now a certain American friend has been telling me that he would like to see me move up to 54mm. Sooooooooooooooo as im a MASSIVE Columbo fan, found this beauty after loads of searching. Real quality sculpt and cast with hardy no clean up, I was very impressed seeing it cost the same as that terrible finecast.

Been on him now for around 14 hours, just starting on his rain jacket.

Very cool. Welcome to the world of 54s, mate! Face looks great and the shading/blending on his suit is excellent.

B ell let's see if we can rectify this by adding ideas to the presentation before overhauling every paintjob mike has a point but realistically sued by side to scale is very close to one another HOW ABOUT SPACING THEM APART TO SCALE BOUT 5 feet and in a zigzag type fashion where each other's shadow has no effect predominantly on the others just my two cents may solve it may not but just to get the mind gears working there is always a happy medium! You just have to find it.

Columbo looks great! Although I always think of him as grandpa in the Princess Bride...

How does your two brush blending work? Is it a swipe with a loaded brush and then a clean brush to move the paint around? I gave that a try briefly but i felt silly switching brushes and was having good results with the thin "glazes".

I also want to revisit wet blending at some point.
