foo.

\"Once\" by Nightwish is indeed a great album... one of their best, actually, I think.

I seem to paint my best while listening to In Flames, ESPECIALLY detail work. Another favorite would be Children of Bodom... good stuffs.

\"Wait... you paint while listening to black metal? *wtf face*\"

I like to listen to movie soundtracks while i\'m painting. Scores are what they called i believe...

Gladiator, Lotr, Last of the Mohicans etc...

Also Clannad, Kate Bush, Soundgarden, metallica etc...

The best is Alexisonfire, Atreyu, Poison The Well, Boys Night Out, Refused, Rites of Spring, Moss Icon, Herion, Second Story Window, The Used, Autumn To Ashes and Misery Signals. Don\'t know about you guys, but hardcore gets me in the mood, to paint that is. There are alot of bands that I listen to when I paint or model but those are the one I can think of. I would probably have more minis if I bought less CD\'s.

I recomend you download some of this music or watch their videos on launch. You\'ll be very pleased.

....I was intrigued and wanted to investigate...:D

Too many years in retail. Ten to be exact.

I thought I had kicked that habit.

Stephen Lynch *did* do a song about D&D. It\'s on his \"Superhero\" cd.

I\'d post lyrics of his, but they\'d ban me faster than BME for that. I\'m sitting here trying to think of a song that isn\'t offensive to anyone (or just plain gross... like Hermaphrodite) and can\'t think of any.

\"Needs more cowbell.\"

heh, you\'re not alone here! I cab play \"Nemo\" on repeat for (literally!) hours.

Apart from that, Delerium is a great PIM, as well as Howard Shore\'s \"LotR\" symphony.

Don\'t have the album yet, but downloaded the \"Nemo\" video and I tend to let it play over and over while painting. Probably my favorite Nightwish song.

Hmm, you must have better self-control than me, anything as fast as Children of Bodom and the headbanging instinct kicks in and makes it hard to focus on the miniature.
lol

I will usually pop in either doom (My Dying Bride, old Paradise Lost, While Heaven Wept, etc.) or stuff like Lacuna Coil (sorry Evanescance another band was doing what you do long before you, and heavier and better), Theatre of Tragedy (not the new crap) or the new Leaves\' Eyes (Liv Kristine\'s new band - the best CD I have gotten in years).

As for black metal, the atmospheric stuff with keyboards (like \"In The Nightshade Eclipse\" era Emperor) makes good background music to paint to, but the aforementioned headbanging instinct kicks in too much with stuff like Marduk or Mayhem.

You could try Brand New Morning by Magnum or any of there albums, Modus Vivendi by Tad Morose that one really rocks.
Burning Point, Dragonforce,Demon,Saxon,AC/DC,Sabbath,Dio (his new ones a bit good), Maiden, if you want something a bit more mellow give Rush in Rio a spin 3 discs of prog heaven.:D

Aha, the video is nice. Before seeing it, I always thought Tarja (the singer) had to have a Montserrat Caballe type of appearance, and was suprised to see that it\'s not so! And I love her coat ... :)

She is quite striking - not what one would expect from a classically trained opera singer. They did a show in Chicago (2 hours north of here) not too long ago - but I was on vacation and missed it:mad:

Is she? I had no idea, although I could have guessed. She\'s truly amazing, I totally agree. And beaufitul, too!

Supposedly she was going to leave the band to pursue a career in opera after Wishmaster, but luckily that was either just a rumor or someone talked her out pf it.

What do you think of the new one, \"Volcano\", by Satyricon? I have just gotten it and it seems to be different than what I expected, but I do really like \"Fuel For Hatred\".

I have followed Manowar since the very early days aka Battle Hymns etc however the last album is really something I think they got a bit miffed at the likes of Rhapsody, Gamma Ray & Symphony X all good bands but just wanted to let the world know that they still are the Kings of Metal with furry nappies and all.
