Still working on the jetbike, but I got a new figure in the mail and I was really excited to start working on it. It's a 42nd Highlander from Pegaso, 54mm. Finally get to paint some tartan.

Painting horizontal lines on the pleats was extremely difficult. There's still another shoulder piece for the tartan as well.

Great work. Some very light washes of a shade colour (I used burnt umbar) on the kilt will blend in the pattern.
Try on a test piece first.

Very nice mate. Go with 10 on a thin glaze to pull it together.

Alright, did a couple layers of wash and worked on the head some more.

The head is lovely. You've done an incredibly good job on the skin and beard stubble. Great work!

Me thinks that perhaps you put one too many layers of the shadow over top. Either too any layers, or the layers weren't diluted enough. The result is the same for both, which is that your colors lost their vibrancy. Second photo looks better than the first, but I think what 10ball and others were speaking of was a barely perceptible glaze. This makes the colors look a part of the fabric, rather than painted on. while you accomplished this, I think it went a tad too far. Still looks great!

Edit: Could just be the photos because I compared them and there really may not
be as much difference as I thought.

It could be a bit of both, I couldn't get the lighting right for the photo, but the wash definitely darkened it some. I'm okay with it though because the Black Watch tartan is a fairly dark one anyway. And it will be a nice contrast to the red of the jacket and the pink in the socks.

You need go back over in places and re highlight (sorry ) It will be a pain but worth it in the end. Not a total repaint just in select places on the pattern like on the leg.
