Wow, looks great! Not was I was expecting when I clicked the link. That dude is HISTORICAL! :) Love the tartan my only nit pick is that the red on his jacket looks a little too even and saturated. On the other hand that is proabably closer to what he looked liek in real life, wearing a red wool coat in the egyptian sun...

Thanks a lot guys, it seems to be going over well in the voting as well. I decided to shift back to a piece that was supposed to be my large scale entry for Crystal Brush 2015 but never even started it. I showed it on my blog earlier, but now I have made a slight color change in the fur and began to shade the mount.

I imagine I'll be working on that piece from now until about a day before Crystal Brush 2016. I want that to be my top entry, and it will need to be with the A-level stuff that Bailey and BAM will be bringing with them.

Last night I got out some green stuff and began turning a loyalist Space Marine into Chaos. Sadly I don't have a head for him, I wanted a bare head and paint it with pale, decaying flesh but all I had were generic SM helmets. I thought I could sculpt some antlers or horns to put on it but that didn't turn out at all so I'm a bit stuck for the head.

For painting today; this guy has been sitting on my desk for a couple months just taunting me. After dropping and breaking him a few times I gave up and considered myself done. Well now I'm back to finish the job, pieces were glued back on (for the 3rd or 4th time) and more paint has been applied.

Tried to get a better pic, it doesn't show up on camera very well. I'm sure it will do much better in a lightbox, but I don't want to set that up right now.

Loads on the go at the moment mate! The creepy ghoul fella looks cool, doesn't look like a GW mini, where's it from? The marines off to a great start as well. I'm about to try my hand at some fine greenstuff details any pointers? By the way, If you haven't chosen a head already the top left head splitting in two looks awesome!

The model is Kaernus the Vicious from Enigma Miniatures. I'm still in the early stages of learning how to manipulate GS so I don't have many tips, but always keep your tools wet. You can use water, olive oil, vasoline or saliva to keep the GS and tools wet, mostly personal preference. Before starting this guy I learned about mixing 60% GS and 40% Apoxie Sculpt, it's a little easier to work with and when it dries it's halfway between GS's rubbery movable texture and Apoxie Sculpt's rock hard texture.

I have a feeling my Black Watch guy made the "New and Notable" section last night as it went from a 9.1 to 8.4 in only 4 votes.

Anyway, I made a few minor additions to that chaos marine:

Got a question, is the spike on the shoulder too much, or too big? I included a head to get an overall feel for the final product.

It's GW, so no number of spikes is ever 'too much'. But yeah, it might be a tad big.

Other than that, I really like your GS work. I think this is something you can become very good at if you keep it up.

Hey Flu, the Marine looks great , yes I think the blade is too much try the end of the plague bearers sword as a bone coming through the skin and shoulder pauldron .
I also think he would be nice taller , have a look at my terminator in my WIP have a look at how tall he is and better proportioned than a standard GW mould
