I think the lighting when I took that pic kind of washed out the highlights but I can revisit it and add more to really make it pop. I agree about the tile not being dirty enough, I have some weathering pigments on the way so I'll get some dirtiness on it. Thanks for the insight.

After a long day of painting I've made some good progress on the Hussar from the first page:

I decided to do a quick paint job for the new CMON contest. I have never done grey scale before so I though I'd try it out. After stressing so much about finishing the CB entries, I realized I had 6 of the 8 finished. So I thought I should do a quick fun project to relax a bit. I'm using a French officer from my scrapped historical unit entry.

Yeah I like it better than the color version I originally went for.

Started working on a Cygnar Lancer from Warmachine, thought I'd do a second attempt on NMM.

Every time I see your Archangel, I get this itching to tear mine out of the package, clean it, assemble it and paint it right away.

But I promised myself I'd clean my table first... finish my other projects... no new projects in February... agh.

Either way, splendid work.

Thanks guys. Now my new challenge is figuring out how to transport all my entries. Granted I don't have far to take them, only a 30-40 minute drive, but I've never moved show pieces before and I will have 10 total minis to transport.

So the lancer was a failure, it was really sloppy work and not really worth the effort to fix it when I still have a squad to do. There are still parts only base coated and unfinished, but here are some shots of my shame:

This is where it really went to hell, the back, just... no good

Nothing to be ashamed of for tabletop. I am getting to the point where i call any completed mini a success...irregardless if it fails to meet my initial quality objectives.

Yeah, though he failed as a CB entry, the Lancer will definitely find a nice home in my new Cygnar army. I'm sure he will die many times.

Here is the start to my Ogre squad's banner:

Thanks, Maxx, it was fun painting grey scale, may do it again some day.

Here is more work on the Ogre. Should be done with this on soon, then on to the next two.

I will definitely have these guys done for CB, with two weekends coming up where I can spend countless hours on them I'm sure of it. I may even have time to start on of the 6 post CB projects I have planned before Adepticon even starts.
