Thank you guys, it means a lot. Here are basically the final pics, not putting them in gallery or anything, just took some high quality shots to pick out spots that need correcting, as the camera sees better than the naked eye. I'll be giving it to my dad later tonight.

I am sure your dad will love this heartfelt gift, this kind of gifts are always those more appreciated. This tartan looked like a nightmare to replicate, but you've done it nicely, specially socks are ace and some areas on the bigger tartan too. But the thing I like the most is it's face.

Thanks a lot guys, my dad really enjoyed it. He has it on the mantle above the fireplace, gotta keep it out of reach of the grandkids. Now back to my CB entries, first up, the rider for my fantasy monster piece. I have big plans for this one.

Yeah, great work on the clansman. The tartan looks really nice! Do you think you'll bring that to Crystal Brush too or do you have another entry for historical?

Nice blues on this new one. I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of monster he's riding.

The piper will stay with my dad. I have a samurai I'd like to paint for historical, but if I run out of time because of my other large projects I'll bring the Black Watch piece I did. It's my highest rated piece on CMON so I have no problem falling back on that one if need be.

Alright, rider guy is basically done. Time to start working on the monster. I used 10's great trick of lime green to highlight NMM using Warcolours Yellow Green 2. Worked pretty well.

Intrigued about the monster... I also like those blues. ^^
I think it would be something related to the sea.... a dolphin? a sea turtle? a sea-lion?

Definitely a creature of the sea. I still have some gaps to fill before working on the full body, but here is what I've done so far.
