Thank you all, this is a pretty fun project so I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. I did more work on him today, but to keep things fresh I thought I'd show you something else I worked on today: Nero the bull from Arena Rex

The scarecrow is cool and I love the blue black you have going on the bulls hide.

Still have to do the leather straps and the hooves, then it's on to the rider.

Nero kicks ass but only cause of the painting!!! Otherwise is just a static resin model!!! it's AAALIVE IT'S AAALIVE!!!

Septimus, the rider, has now been started. I'm not happy the left side of his helmet (last pic) so I'm going to have to re-work that.

I did a lot more work on the rider, then sat him atop the bull, here's where the piece stands now:

Completely agreed and helmet's second version is definitely much better than the first.

Hot damn, that's good. I love the confident use of color and the limited palette. Outstanding, maybe your best.
I do think the red of the blood is too bright, both in terms of naturalism and in terms of visual focus. I wouldn't allow anything on that base that pulls the viewers eye away from your terrific work on the figure.
