A word about Ilyad Miniatures......

I finally got hold of some Ilyad miniatures, principally some of those Vorag Barbarians.

OH MY! SUPERB!!!!! OUTSTANDING

I have to admit these are simply some of the nicest minis I have seen!!!! I rarely ever do \"fantasy\", favouring sci-fi. But these are amazing.

And I ordered some through Starplayer in France. One week delivery to the UK, some pieces out of stock.
And the rest I ended up trying GamersQuest in the UK. Two days for delievery, everything in stock - excellent service!

Oh, man, I can\'t wait to get my hands on some of those barbarians. They are just too cool.

Something strange though, I noticed that Starplayer took some of them off of the webpage (the champion and the female). Is it because they were out of stock?

I wonder if it was Avicenna\'s amazing paint job and win at the Wyrd contest that made these so popular all of a sudden. That\'s where I heard of them first.

I think Starplayer only display what they have in stock. And believe me, the barbarians were popular long before the Wyrd competition! ;)

Give or take a few miniatures in the other races it\'s only the barbarians that really do a lot for me. I\'m quite relieved actually. I thought that my wallet was about to loose some weight.

you counted?!! you sad bugger! i also have bought from gamersquest and found them to be superb. i now have the hannibal lector masked barbarian, the werewolf and a chaos magister type dude

I admit some of the older stuff isn\'t quite so hot, but certainly the ones sculpted by Jacques Alexandre are the best! And being resin, the cleanup is minimal!

As some of you maye have realised now, I have just finished painting the Vorag Champion - he is posibly the best mini I have ever seen! I now have the two younger looking barbs, the female one with a whip and the big guy with hannibal lector mask... the 2 younger guys are going to go on the same base as my champion... :D

the one word you need for the Vorag Barbarians is

AWESOME

in fact, that probably goes for all of JAGs sculpts!

thats where I ordered mine!

They had a bit of a crap period when they first changed hands, but I have used them since and have had a lot of luck. Not the fastest delivery (that goes to someone like hasslefree or heresy) but not had any problems.

Have you checked how much it is? People tend to think it\'s far worse than it need to be... Fill out an order and proceed until shipping has been added. You can always cancel!

EDIT: Since you\'re outside of the European Union you will not have to pay VAT, which lowers the price of the mini a bit. That might very well make up for the extra shipping costs...

Has anybody compared Gamersquest and Starplayers rates? Does one have better shipping rates than the other? I\'ve ordered from Starplayer already (3 times) and the first two orders took a week to arrive & the third, a month (an unplanned side trip to Jamacia before making it to the states). I\'d switch to GQ if the rates were better.
