i have to get some new Ilyad minis.. the barbarians are very popular.
Hey Sonny, I use the standard GW white primer but I\'m quite generous with it! It looks very wet when it goes on, but dries lovely and none of the detail is missing. I tend to do a single layer, see how it looks and then add another. I always spray outside, which means the model dries quickly.
@Romain: So you are the opposite to me then

You really have used a light touch on the primer - I find if I do that, I get very mixed results with the worst being it goes grainy. I love the skin colour you have used and his loin cloth looks great too
@Ebonbudda: Ilyad are the new Rackham! LOL I find the models daunting because of a) their size (the barbarian Avicenna did for example is tiny but has so much detail or in the case of the minotaur, he\'s huge!) and b) the level of detail they can achieve with resin casts. Funnily enough, they aren\'t brittle though and are easy to prep - make sure you give them a nice wash in soapy water to remove the mould release agent (sorry if I\'m teaching my grandmother to suck eggs with that last bit!). But you must get one and obviously let us see how you get along with it
