Really impressed with the reds mate, makes me want to paint red now :)
Gold looks good also :good: maybe a serial number on the side of the sword?
The blues on the gun still need work on the contrast, slightly darker in the creases and use the white sparingly in a very small focul point.

When I look at your work I try to imagine if I would think of shading and highlighting like you have, no is the answer. I have a few blood Angels to try but to hit this level is a dream away.

Andy, the difference between Red and Black highlighting stands out too much and makes the figure look incomplete.
I'd suggest that the shoulder pads need a transition equal to the red.

I know I'm always pointing out issues, but sometimes people get "SnowBlind" on a figure.
Really sorry bud!

Okay smoothed and based still some fidly bits to do but I will come back to this later time to move onto the next squad member.

Man, the patience required...

That is a badass gaming base tho. Love the blown out structure. Super cool. Will the judges allow the square base? It's such a cool base and a good idea that I want you to be able to keep it, yet I wonder if the squareness will detract from the judges scoring, even if it is legal.

Also requesting a level plane photo. Get it sorted so I can see the dimensionlity of that base.

Thanks Mr Andy looks incredible. Both the golds and the reds are done to perfection. What did you use pray tell for the base? Scratch built or some sort of kit? I love it. I know in fantasy you can fill ranked up units with terrain or other diorama type materials and it "counts as" for the unit. Of course this is for gaming purposes, but can you include something like this for your squad entry in order to build a stronger setting for your unit?

fantastic mate. Are you going to add some more battle damage to the others other wise their shoulders will look weird.

Cracking base there mate, I dont think square bases will matter Ive seen 40k on square before.

I will have to admit that the 'battle damage' on the shoulder pad annoys me and doesnt look like battle damage but hey ho there you go :)

You ever try the Vallejo putty? I like it for stuff that's small like this. It comes out like toothpaste and dries sandable. It not nearly as durable as the GS but I don't imagine that is much of a factor for you.
