Trying to follow the box art on this for the horns and they are streaky but hey might change them.

Here he is pretty much done now. Started assembling the base it's going to be a big job painting.

Here is is a pic of the boy with the boots done.

Terrific NMM, it tricks the eye completely into TMM ^^
I like the base a lot also, although a bit too much skulls or too similar and "well" positioned. The geometric drawing on the tiles swits the scene perfectly IMO.

Great choice of base, Andy. Slambo is such a solid, static, old school mini that he looks perfect in your creepy old school dungeon. The warm colors in the rocks & tiles really help Slambo's metal stand out. Great work!

I think you've done a fantastic job with the NMM Andy! The subtle warm/cool contrasts totally sell the effect. The overall colour palette is quite restrained and that give the mini great realism which contrasts very nicely with the old school style of Slambo.

Thanks for the kind words it really does motivate me. Base will get more work for sure but I didn't want to emphasise it too much as the focus should be on Slambo

"Know,oh prince, that between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis and the gleaming cities, and the years of the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of, when shining kingdoms lay spread across the world like blue mantles beneath the stars-Nemedia, Ophir,Brythunia, Hyperborea, Zamora with its dark haired women and towers of spider haunted mystery, Zingara with its chivalry, Koth that bordered on the pastoral lands of Shem, Stygia with its shadow guarded tombs, Hykrania whose riders wore steel and silk and gold. But the proudest kingdom of the world was Aquilonia, reigning supreme in the dreaming west. Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian black haired sullen eyed sword in hand a thief a reaver a slayer with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth to tread the jewelled thrones of the Earth under his sandalled feet."-The Nemedian Chronicles

This was meant to be!
What's the figure, Andy? I absolutely love Conan (from Howard's realism to the silly b&w comic books of the 80s). I'm sure your ever more incredible NMM and your great skintones will do justice to Conan!

Howard was the best fantasy writer of his generation better than Burroughs by a country mile, to quote Neil Gaiman his stories wanted to leap of the page with the urgency to tell them.

The figure is Petar Barbarian from Figone Miniatures.

Been working for hours on this getting his stubble done fine detail on the face and very slowly putting green into the skin and smoothing as much as I can. I made the mistake in previous minis when I tried to do a franzetta style colour of going to heavy to quick and it looked shite. This time very very thin washes and let it dry thoroughly between glazes. Very time consuming and I'm still no where near finished on the skin but I'm liking it a lot. So a huge amount of work to produce only subtle changes but hopefully worth it in the long run.

Your skin tones have always been a source of true inspiration to me. Love the way this is looking already mate and I know a lot who would be happy to leave it there.
