Gave it a try it looked cluttered and distracting didn't like it. Going to do some free hand on the cloak but it's very folded so some type of simple geometric design not quite made up my mind yet. Also the base I'm using a premolded resin base ,circular, check board black and white marble effect but old ruin and going to have vines leaves and a tree. Going to use that copper wire one we got at Euro last year. Meant to ask how did you chop yours down to size? Did you un-band a bit of the wire to make roots or anything like that? Any tips would be nice mate.

Just used wire cutters and snipped one branch off.
used watered down polyfilla brushed on to build up and remove the wire appearance.

nice matey, the metal looks awesome. hope to see it irl somewhat soon

think the vegetation on his back look a bit too uniform though, perhaps mix in some other greens and browns to make it more alive?

Agreed on the vegetation. On the back of the helmet some of the shades need glazing back a bit, a tad harsh steps in places mate.

Good call on the leaves I've had a go and am pleased with the different colours. Also the highlighting on the metal I've pulled back a scooch with a glaze of mid-tone. Been having fun with the base nearly finished now just needs a few tweaks and a name plate and don. Ready to move onto the gods and monsters comp.

Looks great! Fantastic job with this figure. The NMM is awesome and the little bit of freehand on the cloth is a nice touch. The only criticism I can give you is that the tree doesn't seem up to the same level as the figure. The leaves all look pretty flat. If you're planning to compete with this piece, you might consider going back and adding some more color variation on the tree leaves (like you did with the ones on the figure) and maybe some light/dark. You said you still had a few tweaks, so maybe that's what you were planning to do. And, again, the figure itself is wonderful.
