Sizing up the competition

As Terrafirma quite sensibly pointed out, I had neglected to include a size/scale comparison for Aradicus and Pickles.

They're primed, so I figured I would add one now (the choice of paint is for BAM):

Guild Ball Commission 2

Just to jog your memories: a friend of YetiSA's asked me to paint up three of his new Guild Ball minis to a good tabletop standard to match the Kickstarter studio jobs on his existing teams.

The second mini, Sakana from the Fishermen team, is finished.

Note: The pics are just cellphone quickies, but it should give you a general idea. When they're all finished I'll try to make a plan with better quality shots.

Having now painted up two of these metal minis I must say that I am very impressed with both the sculpting and the casts. I'd encourage people to have a look at the characters available. Even if you don't want to play, there are some great sculpts to choose from.

Agreed about the Guild Ball minis, their sculpts have a lot of character. I'll be glad to see a less washed-out image of this one, he looks like he has an expressive face!

@Sionid - Welcome to my little corner of CMON. Always great to see new faces - especially one belonging to a talented person such as yourself. I'm glad you like my little experiments with sculpting. Stay tuned - I have a plan for more feline cuteness. Yeah, hopefully I can convince YetiSA to let me borrow his photography skills when they're all done.

Just the general smoothness you need to get on the colors and blends and trying to get the cartoony cell shading type look right without it coming off as gw style basecoat, wash, highlight type work. I have 2 in my gallery and those were actually exhausting to do.

Looking good there, really hope that you're not like me, and actually get the better pictures taken. Agree on the Guild Ball minis, they look incredible! Not that I can afford more minis at the moment, or should be buying more if I could.

Requests?

Life is being rather complicated at the moment. So finding time to unpack my paints and then sit down for a decent session is not happening for a few more days.

But I can't do nothing, so I'm considering starting another sculpt. The chibi/cartoon style seems to suit my natural sculpting tendencies so it's likely to be something along those lines. But what to sculpt?! I have too many half-concocted ideas to choose from for a quick project. So I'm opening this up to the floor.

Do any of you fine people have a request? Do let me know.

For inspiration you can go to soda pop website (dungeon explore)... and also the last kickstarter for arcadia quest will include some animals on the Pets expansion.. You can also have a look on mozilla firefox website for some more inspiration or even check japanese folklore for further info.
