Thanks, guys. Well, the latest figure is up in the gallery

http://www.coolminiornot.com/345111

He came with a nice bit of scenery and I decided he really didn't need much more than that. Overall I'm quite pleased with how he turned out. I've got two other mostly finished projects that I'm hoping to wrap up in time for the Long Island show... so hopefully you'll see a few more gallery posts from me this week. :smile-big:

He turned out pretty damn great sir. That bit of scenery he came with is a really nice addition to the kit.

Thanks, Skel and Milosh. Yeah, Moe, he does kind of look like DR.

Well, here's a project from quite a while ago. There were a number of minor things I wanted to fix but just never seemed to get around to. Finally found the motivation and finished up this lovely figure from Kingdom Death. This is the 54mm version of their White Speaker model, they do the same figure in 28mm as well. She's up in the gallery and heading with me to Long Island tomorrow.

Thanks. Yeah, I think 54mm is a bit easier. When working on areas with a lot of detail like the face I think the larger size really helps. But with bigger surfaces the transitions are less forgiving, if they aren't smooth it's much easier to see. And I find it takes me a lot longer to finish a 54mm than a 28mm figure. I'm always a fan of experimenting with different scales. See what you like best.

Wow. Evocative. Love those KD minis. I'll never be able to do them justice, but they sure are nice to look at when painted well!

Whooosh.............Thuuud!!
Sound of jaw connecting with carpet!

She's Belting Bailey, Belting!
I'd hazard to say she'd not disgrace you at Euro-Militaire, so here's hoping she does you proud this weekend!

The skinwork on the Speaker is really really smooth. I also like the skintone.
What I dislike is the high contrast on her belly. KD minis are very curvy and with these curves she would not have a fat-% that would show her abbs like this. But thats the only point (being picky as a sportsfreak^^)

Thanks, Zab, Dragonsreach, Alexandra, and Cyn.

Cyn, I agree the contrast on her stomach my be a bit too high. But the White Speaker are some of KDs least curvy figures. You can see from the sculpt that some of that definition is sculpted in. Still, I probably could have toned it down.

Work part is the guy said all that took him only 6 1/2 months. If I worked 6 1/2 years I still don't think I'd be close to finishing that many figures.

I don't want to flood my thread with other people's work, so follow the above link to see a lot more. On a side note I got a gold medal for my goalie and for the White Speaker. I also won two special awards donated from other clubs around the world. My Officer of the Navy Guard won for best Italian figure and my Gladiator won for best Roman figure. I thought the two awards were very neat. The second was donated by the Monte San Savino show. I will have to check back about the first one, I had trouble hearing them when they announced it.

This was my first time attending, but I really enjoyed the show. I thought it was probably the friendliest show I've been too. All the club members and artists were very happy to talk to you and share their experience.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I was a modeller before I was a mini painter, so I've always had a soft spot for those dioramas.

Mind blowing! Congrats on the medals! I am so glad you won with the goalie. That guy was so well painted and such a different subject than what I think of as the norm.

I have got to get to a show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nice work Bailey, sounds like an impressive show. I see Bill Horan, Mike Blank and possibly Doug Cohen's work in there. Congrats on the well deserved awards. How well was Fantasy represented at the show?

Thanks, 10, Demihuman, and Milosh.

The fantasy section left a little bit to be desired. Not too many entries. They did have a few European painters but they were purely historical painters. The MFCA show is a much better source for fantastic fantasy figures. If you have the chance, it's well worth the trip to Philadelphia.

An the Stalingrad is really mindblowing, such detail on such a large piece.
