Thanks everyone. Turns out Painting flesh is super hard.
No updates yet - maybe tomorrow - but in the meantime here is another sculpt I started yesterday. It's going to be an elf (75mm) - I wanted to create something slim and elegant, and really try to get some nicely detailed armour working. So far it seems okay - quite crisp in places, though by no means perfect.
Thoughts welcome!

Pretty slim spiderlegs. Not much else to say about it.
While I am at it: My Sprogrot received his first colours yesterday. And I did everything with my airbrush. Never before have I sprayed a miniature. Quite amazing what I could do once I got the feeling for it. I figured for your first available sculpt it would be fitting to make it a first for me as well. He did not see a brush yet nor did I use any masking. Pictures will follow the next days when I am back home in the sprogrot-thread and my WIP.

Nice detail in the armour, he seems to be missing a backside, but that could be due to the angle of the shot. Could also be from YetiSA comment where the thighs are thin

Thanks all - oops, fell at the first hurdle of WIP posting and forgot to point out what is done and what is still, um, WIP.
The thighs are a bit top-heavy as it's hard to get underneath and do the backs, so they will thicken up. And none of the back is done yet. But otherwise yes - all valid points!

Not much time last night, but added some arms. I'm pleased with the eagle head. Less pleased with the belt buckle - looks too crude for an elf, so I'm going to redo it as something else.

Thanks all. Great suggestions!
@digga: I have a cheap brush with nice soft nylon/acrylic bristles (I'll take a pic) - it's about a size 4 and has a tapered end. But the eagle just came out that smooth from gently using the side of a needle to shape it - lucky, but I'll take it!
@Sicks: thanks, though selling our house (thus having to pack everything away in the shed after even the littlest session) seems to have slowed me down somewhat.
@Maenas: more good suggestions - I'll definitely look at wings/feathers for it.
Couple of little tweaks: first I tried a rune on the chest. According to google this is a high elf rune that means 'Lathain - storm, or wrath'. If that means anything to you. I'm not sure it looks cool enough.
this is an overview: I took the whole fabric/buckle off and swapped it for a short wrap. Hopefully it looks better.
finally it is held on by a teeny oak leaf at his hip. Really hard to photograph, hopefully you get the idea:

Nice adjustments. I'd lengthen the teeny tiny wrap slightly - looks dangerously close to being a loin cloth which I don't think is the look you're going for.
Ooh house moving is always a pain and I can imagine with small dazzlets around it must be even more challenging. You moving area for work or just a bigger space?

Good shout on the loincloth, I'll tweak it.
We're early in the process: found a buyer for our house, so need to find a place to buy. We're upsizing (pretty much a must with three dazzle minis) and moving into a specific school catchment area, so life is about to get really, really, really expensive.
But it with any luck we'll find something soon. I may even end up with a bit of a man cave!

Hi all,
bit it of an update on the elf - managed to squeeze in a bit of sculpting time last night. Still needs smoothing and a few general area tidy-ups, but the essence of his head and body is done. Also added some more runes on the armour and extended the loincloth.
His right leg broke at the knee, which is annoying, but easily fixable once I've stopped baking him.

Just need to to do hands (ugh) cape and weapons now...
