Thanks all! I'm glad you like them: I find it so hard to judge my own stuff - I guess I'm too close to it.
Thanks Zab, Tero. Yep, this was a base and a half. Totally glad it's over with. There were heaps more things I could've/should've done to it, but I'll save all the aborted ideas for another thing I think.
@Arch: um, call me a silly newbie if you like, but I don't actually know how to put anything into the gallery... It would be interesting to see how they do I guess. But yes, I'm more about the WIP and everyone's super useful comments.
@Digga: I'm really still trying to figure out the camera. I got an old Canon EOS 350 off eBay (whose software doesn't actually work on my MacBook, it's so old), and I'm still playing. The fully manual mode doesn't work on it - you can't seem to change the shutter speed - so I'm using a setting where you can but the aperture is automatic.
For the dark backgrounds: I bought the missus a handbag for xmas that came in a big black net-a-porter box - the models are stood on the lid and the main box is the backdrop, so it's very useful! I bought another lamp for £4 and that's it - so two halogen lamps, a black box and an old camera. I set the lighting and then take pics from different shutter speeds until it looks about right, and that's it so far.
And thanks Dr Bob (and welcome, if you're a new visitor to my WIP) - surely if it was a Frazetta there would be at least two adoring naked slave girls on a chain, or something?
