I am glad you're with us again. Not sure what happened to the demon / war. I guess it is the foto, but I miss lots of the blueish sheen that could be seen in the pictures before. This was a big step up, and on the last picture it looks like its lost. The eyes are cool and effective to show his demonic nature. Still they are large enough to give him some weird pupils. I would personally go for slitted ones without an iris. The challenge is making it work without killing the glowing effect.

I still do not have much of an opinion on the elf besides your obvious sculpting talent and the great freehand works.

The lady... I think you need to work on your human faces, especially female ones. Not only do they all look very similar, they also tend to look pretty masculine. From a quick look I think the lips are too big and produce a huge looking mouth. The mouth may be too wide as well, not sure about that. Another point might be the bones under her eyes which seem to stand out a bit too far to the front and maybe (not sure) to the sides, leading to a somewhat angular look which implies manliness as well. This contradicts the very smooth and fine overall form of the face. I guess going a bit back there and focussing a bit more on the chin could help there. Of course I am no anatomy expert, this is just what I think might help.

Thanks everyone - yep, lots of little niggles, and it's proving hard to push each one through to the end. I think I should probably finish one over the others, get them more manageable.

Right, here's last night's session results. I left the sculpting alone and went in painting mode to try and finish up more of the elf and war. First up is war:

I had a go at various different pupil types, and the only ones that looked okay(ish) were these circles. I may still knock them back to being yellow coronas: enough to see the where he's looking but not diminish the glow. Hopefully Schwarz this picture will show that the blue is still very much there - it was just in shadow on the last pic.

Here's the back - not much to say about it, other than it's done.

And here here is his little toga emblem - I freehanded a little angry face on it.

Next next up is the elf - and yes, he was missing his sword. This is my first ever plasticard sword (the other one was too fragile). A simple freehand in the middle of the blade, and a bit more to do on the edges, as the silver is quite blobby. Hopefully Arch you can see that the angle of the tree makes more sense now - I did it to mirror the forward angle of his body and to frame the sword a little bit, but let me know if it is still weird.

The whites of his eye are awful bright at the moment. Maybe glaze some red around the outside of them to get that pinkish look that you see around human eyes. Then maybe some yellow glazes to knock the white intensity down some. Just my 2 cents. Already looks good enough to call finished in my eyes,.

Yeah, I can't see it too closely, but it looks pretty badass. I'm liking that base, too, although it does sprawl a bit visually.

I am curious and I am sure many others are as well. Do you have any pictures of things where the first attempt was not something miraculously amazing, or is that just how Robot Witches are programmed?

War is looking very cool. What are you planning to do with his robe? Again, feel free to paint Pestilence if you'd like to tackle a larger scale. Just one point: Fimo doesn't seem to take kindly to spray on primer so if you do paint him that's something to bear in mind.

As for the elf the sword blade is looking pretty good, but I can see where you are talking about wanting to refine it. The tree bothers me less with the sword blade in place, but I must admit that it still doesn't work for me. I'd decrease the forward lean by a few degrees. However, I seem to be the only one who is troubled by it so you can merrily ignore the comment.

Finally, I've finished the elf. And what a mission he turned out to be – seems like ages since I started him (I must be slowing down in my old age). Life has been pretty harsh – as it seems to have been for a number of us on here, and out in the real world too. But I'm happy to have got another one done so I can move onto new things. I probably need something light and peppy to do next, refresh the palate somewhat.

So here he is:

According to one of these online elvish translator sites 'Glorosta Thoron' means 'to dazzle the eagle', which I thought made sense with my name and the eagle freehandy bit on his cloak.

He looks great dazz, particularly his cloak. That's up there with some of the best painting I've seen.
