For my own records and references, I need to take a moment to write down what I used in the 1st level of shading. Who knows, someone might also find it interesting, especially if you are a recipe nut like me. In general, I went from warm to cold from top to bottom. On top it's an orangey red, then it transitions to a true red, to a red-violet, to pure purple. All of these mixed and very unsaturated. At the end of this whole skin painting process is when I'll add the saturated reds and purples (like what is seen on the face somewhat). The second level of shading will include more browns, but also each area will go colder the deeper in the cracks the shadows go. Example: the orangey red at the top will get redder in the cracks. The reds in the middle will get more red violet in the cracks. The col purple at the bottom will go darker purple, more towards blue. But it the first level of shading is as follows:
-Bestigor Flesh with VMC brown sand and a touch of Bugman's Glow (from here on this mix referred to as BS&BG)
-VMC Red Leather with BS&BG
-VGC Gorey Red with BS&BG
-VGC Gorey Red and GW Xereus Purple with BS&BG
-Xereus Purple with BS&BG
-Naggaroth Night with BS&BG
Basecoat: BS&BG, with a bit more than a touch of the BG. It's 1:5 BS:BG on the base coat. And of course as mentioned earlier, no priming.
