BloodFather's Axis of Chaos

Wanted to show my base idea. It'll be standard gray stone, with slate green weathering all over it. Also, the statue will likely get quite a heavy load of verdigris to tie it in with the figure.

Also, went lighter in places as advised by Demihuman. Still not pure white, but haven't decided if I'll stop at this level. It's Ivory with just a dot of Ratskin. Shoulderpad still needs a lot of attention, not fully blended. What are your thoughts on the base? Right now the idea is this background with some tiles/cobblestone ground half covered in dirt, with some rose bushes here and there. Oh yeah, and a ton of corpses and heads and blood and gore. I am very much open to suggestions on the base though.

Oh yeah, and my new joy in life is painting zombie heads.

Looking nice, I think you can push that highlight to pure Ivory, just the smallest of areas.
base looks fitting but for some reason I see water falling over the front ! It doesn't make much sense as there would be no source to it, but it was my instant thought....

At first I thought you meant the base was going to be the cork. Uggggh. Need coffee. Then I saw it and its going to be awesome. Maybe you can incorporate some vines in it to help give me some inspiration on my dwarf base. ;). Anyways even if you did just use the cork as a base I'm sure you would have made it jaw dropping like all your other work.

This one is coming along nicely, I like the leather (armor) look. I would perhaps add some lighter (military green/brown) highlights to the zombie head.. but that might be on the way since this is a WIP :)

Yes sir, you guessed it. There is some Vallejo Game Air dead flesh on the way. This will be even further highlighted with some VGA Dead White mixed in. Also, the eyes need a few more layers of the VMC white glaze I used. With the zombie head I started with a dark, pukey green color. Then around they eyes and in the hollow pits of his cheekbones, I added VMC gray green. Then I mixed Rakarth flesh with that Dead Flesh for the midtone. Next and not pictured is pure Dead Flesh. Then I'll leave one or two spots that are dead flesh with Dead white. Really was a pleasure to paint because I've never had the opportunity to paint with such abnormal colors.

Thanks for the compliment my brotha! It's strange, everyone seems to be reading my mind on this guy. Every comment left or advise given, I have already thought about incorporating. Yup, totally going to put some Army Painter poison ivy vines stretched across its surface. It comes clumped together but you can carefully pull the stuff apart for a more viney look. Also going to use a ton of weathering powders on it, so standby for this as well.

Hmm..funny, I considered having a bit of a blood waterfall spilling down it's surface.

That's going to be a very cool looking base when you're done with it. The armor on this guy is great and I really like the zombie head. Keep up the good work!

Honestly bud, with your sculpting skills you are way ahead of all of us. Speaking of which, can you link me to your WIP? I must have accidentally unsubscribed from you again, and I was looking for you this morning without luck. Need to see what yer up to.

Gandalf, coming from a painting wizard of your renown, this is very flattering :)

I just voted and commented on your Exalted Hero of Khorne in here but the P&P I don't have an account, well maybe another day :)

That Goliath looks really fun to paint...

My latest WIP shot of Goliath. I can't tell you how devastated I am over this. Sure , it's just a miniature at the end of the day. I was just really happy with how it was coming along, is all. Two months of work. I'd just finished all of the severed heads on it and was crazy happy with the results. Really, really bummed and discouraged...

After I dozed off for a few minutes (I am a clinically diagnosed insomniac so this happens very often and easily) my 5 month old puppy jumped onto the coffee table and took Goliath.

Really, really depressed from this. Don't think I'll paint anything for awhile...a long while.

As I was composing this, I dropped my iPhone 5 and the screen splintered into dozens of cracks. So may not update anything for awhile either...
