Hmm, I think the color is right on, just push it more. the bottom of those holes is a great place to get some strong highlights as is the top edge of his mask. Here is my 'shopped version:

Before you say anything, I plan on putting some super tiny white dots here and there. Should do the trick...

I am thinking that the rest of the metal parts will be a deep red with gold trim. Unless anyone has any other ideas...

lol you beat me to it Demi. Yeah I guess the edge highlighting I did on those holes didn't show too well. I'll have to go back at them with some damn near white highlights. I'll apply some slow dri too, as that always sharpens edge highlights.

Reallt I was inquiring on the new part though...the demon head.

As as always though Demi ur crits are spot on. Thanks buddy.

Well, same deal on the mask. higher highs lower lows. also I think you could co in with some green in the shadows or maybe that purple color and build contrast that way. Maybe paint the eyes like gems though?

Demi's handing out very good advice. Only thing I can add is that with the demon head painted I think it helps the mask read as bronze, as you've got the same colors in both. Of course pushing the contrast on both will help and adding the white highlights on the bottom edges of the holes.

Thanks to you both. You confirmed my thoughts Bailey that painting the demon head contributed to the mask's appearance. Nonetheless, I may still paint it NMM gray green. Like the axe on Goliath, if you remember. Haven't decided yet. Metal will be a dark red with gold trim.

I just might test out some Alazarin Crimson oil paint over a red base. The hope being that this strengthens the red pigmentation, making the standard red appear lighter, thereby making it unnecessary to use flesh or orange or any other method for my highlights. Sounds good in theory anyway...

I've heard of some people putting real spider webs on their bases. Well, this monstrosity is outside my apartment. I hate to see what made this. Each strand is thicker than dental floss. Probably meant to catch small birds...

Wood spiders over in Japan have the strongest spider silk that actually does catch small birds. He was the size of about 3 of my fingers, when I saw him I started believing in the concept of Godzilla.

Sneaker Peaker of the armor for Cannibal. It is red. Now, bear in mind that I still have more contrast to do on the red, and the NMM gold is only base coated, no bling bling yet. Robes will be a nice dirty green. C&C appreciated....

A green grey demon mask would work 1) tying in with the red as it is the compliment and all that means is that when 2 complImentaly colors are used it yields all 3 primaries and is ore pleasing. Same reason why Ide shade the red with a dark green this yields to red and (yellow, blue) green you now have all three primaries that work well you see you using a green with a red means your using all 3 primary colors ded, yellow, blue ....more pleasing to the eye and they work well together as in color theory denotes...great colors btw this thing is looking gob smacking

Thanks bud! Totally with you on the colors. I am actually shading the red with VMC Dark Sea Blue, as it makes for a strong violet shade. Additionally, I think I'm going to make his boots gold. His robe will be a sort of deep Lima bean green, I should probably shade it with the same dark red used on the armor. Hoping to really make the gold pop out from the red...

Yeah! Best yet by far! He's just a little tiny baby Hannibal huh? That is some crisp painting! The groin mask looks real good.

Please tell me how you think the red in the armor came out. It's a darker shade of red but still wanted it bright in spots. Contrast goes from a VMC dark sea blue and GW Khorne red to straight GW evil sunz scarlet, which is like an arterial bleeding bright red. Please note that the gold is simply base coated, but the bronze demon head is completed.

Wow that is looking really nice. There is a nice limited palette to the shades on this guy that all tie together quite well.

The shading on the red looks fine. I think we need to channel Papa BAM to get some battle damage in there though. Or maybe this dude is more of a ceremonial Cleric type guy? Like he's in charge of the ritual slaughter?
