Here is my latest work, a Dragyri Wail which I titled Blue Lotus.

This one was very intimidating to start considering all of the outstanding Dragyri which have been shown lately, which I used to challenge myself to produce a miniature really pushing my abilities.

Please take a look and vote :)

Blue Lotus

Comments and criticism are of course more than welcomed!

Thank you,
Eric

Absolutely gorgeous!! It boggles my mind that people will probably give it anything less than a 10! Pretty much perfect in my opinion, so I can\'t help you with suggestions. Congratulations.

I would like to denounce you as an alien!!

You clearly originate from the planet \'Paint\' and it seems your task is to undermine our confidence and self-esteem by dazzling displays of your own brilliance.

Deny it if you can!!!

Top job Eric. A clear and resounding (clang) ten:D

Yes IMHO she is the best mini I have seen thus far bar none. I say encore, encore..... I was great fun to watch her grow :D

Brushlicker and Freak!
The mini is perfect a 10 on its own, the base is also perfect and worth a second 10.

Please post a pic of just the base so I can vote that a 10 as well and give you the recognition this mini deserves (ie two 10s).

I don\'t know why you were worried about the photography. The reflection looks amazing. :wow:
Beautiful SENMM
That is the NMM talent I aspire to.

I can find absolutely nothing on this piece to even nitpick about.

I\'m gonna have to get Mike to come visit you with the Hammer.

:D

Stunning work there Eric. You have really raised the bar. The reflection alone is worth a 10. I can see absolutly nothing wrong with this mini. I voted and left a comment.

Thanks for the reply everyone, this piece was a funny one for me, I don\'t think I\'ve been so nervious to post a mini since my first one, because I did take so much time and was really trying to prove to myself I could do the technicals at this level.

Trevor, I will take a photo of the base for you, but I don\'t know if I\'ll post it for voting, I was trying so hard to make a post to cover the shots so I wouldn\'t have to post a 2nd, since all the multiple post issues, I wanted to get my post right the first time :)

On this one I was honestly a little worried about the complete lack of an accent color, it\'s all just blue/green and silver/grey, and I kept trying places to thrown something in, but it never seemed right. It kind of went against my original idea about color theory, but I think it worked pretty well, so I may have to rethink

thanks again! :)

no really

I thought Arjay and Alexi\'s Dragyri were special - this is just a step up again!

I think I can see the next inspiration for painters to try - reflections.

bloody lovely, the face in particular - with the colour transitions and variations, is inspiring.

Thanks Cindy :)

now when are you going to send me some of your own special miniature line to paint :) *pokepoke* just kidding, I know how that\'s coming along, I can wait...

But this was my first skin tone that Cindy mentioned, which got stripped :(

So you put the eye up on the avatar to tease us initially! Evil :)

I prefer the mini to the base although I can see it\'s very well done. She\'s painted wonderfully and the alternate view side-on shows it in its best light so to speak.

My only criticism is that the figure lacks that spark if you know what I mean...hoho! Joking. It lacks in nothing, but I just love the way people say that, as with Poupee\'s piece discussed recently lol

Superb. I don\'t think she needs the (gorgeous) base at all as the mini is such a stunning piece as it is! The base almost draws attention away from her...

A mega piece of work Eric;)

Reverend and Spacemunkie it\'s actually funny you mention the base, there was a moment a couple days ago where I had done all the sculpting and was about half done with the painting on the base and I thought to myself the same thing, that perhaps it was a negative to the mini to do it...then I looked at it, thought about the 10 hours already spent and the fact it\'s not like I could use the thing for another piece! lol. So it got stuck on.

I was actually thinking about first posting just the paint job on a simple base to see how that did, before posting with the base, but again I was worried about the whole multiple posts of the same mini thing, so I just stuck with this.

I wouldn\'t worry about multiple posts, most people aren\'t even aware of the whole debate, and if they bitched about seeing this twice  Wonderful work, you pushed yourself well, embracing new colours like they were long lost relatives lol I looked at the face for at least an hour when I first saw it,I dread to think how long I\'ve stared at it in total! I nearly s**t a brick when I saw it finished, but I still think the ribbon looked better black lol Seriously though, this has it all, technique and :wow: so be proud

The base does make it stand out, and I\'m sure it\'ll help it get somewhere near the sites top ten - where it deserves to be :)

I see Alexi posted her Wail as well.....;)
