Prizes are awarded \"randomly\"!
You could paint a girl all blue and still win a prize.
I painted a girl all blue last year, won in my category, and didn\'t get a prize. What did I do wrong ? ???
I meant paint it all one shade of blue :p
Just the luck of the draw I\'m afraid. I entered a couple years back when there weren\'t many entrants and still didn\'t win anything. Even though I\'m entering 4 I think my chances of winning are less this year because of the big turnout.

So many entries are probably making Jason glad he\'s not doing it again. I wish he could pass the torch to someone else.

pass the torch to someone

all it would take was a daring volunteer. . . :p

I think even with the # of entries being so high this year, the chances of getting a prize are pretty good when you consider the MOUNTAIN of swag he has accumulated from donations. Truly awesome. It makes me happy to see so many companies throwing in for this, one of the most fun contests out there.

I\'ve got 2 of mine done. . . 1 more to finish this week. . .huzzah!

I got my first two done in the first two days and now I have 5 days to finish five.

I love working under pressure. I do my most work that way. And even though that sentence was grammatically incorrect, it says exactly what I meant. I try to enter Golden Toadstool every month, so that I at least finish one mini a month. Also to show newbies that improvement will come with time, and to stop lurking. Hear that Newbies, post some pix.

Hopefully someone will pick up the torch and run with it. I\'d hate to see this contest die.

finished

I have finished all 4 of my entries.
They may not be perfect, but I have that rare ability in mini painters: I can say \"it\'s good enough\" and move on.:D

Done and dusted!

Well I didn\'t make the deadline last year with my Eclipsante, but this year I\'ve managed to complete my entry. Really pleased with her too ;) Seem to be several entries of this model, but hopefully my little conversion will win me some points..... and what do points mean ??? PRIZES of course!! lol lol

Good luck to everyone who has entered - can\'t wait to see all the goodness and get voting :bouncy:

I got my three entries in. The contest really pushes me to do my best work -- last year my entry ended up getting an CMON 8.2 or so. My entries probably aren\'t that good this time, but I think I have two high 7s and one low 6. ;)

Crud!

I tried, I really did, but just wasn\'t able to get my entry completed. Got her about 75% done, but schoolwork managed to eat about 10 hours a day for the last week. :(

Done, finally...

I finally finished my CCV entry. I was out of town all weekend so didn\'t get her finished until this evening. I hope Jason will still take her. The e-mail I got from him said that he would probably accept entries until the 22nd or 23rd, so hopefully I got in under the wire. I think I got a little too ambitious given me RL work load and having the Paintaid stuff to do as well. I\'m a REALLY SLOW painter as it is so completing this much stuff is a rare, rare occurance.

I can\'t wait to see what everyone has submitted. Well, off to bed, cheers all.

I finished one of mine and entered it sunday night *crosses fingers* good luck everyone!

It would be sad to see this competition go *phutt*... Obviously a lot of work goes into the competition, but I wonder whether a group of likeminded individuals could get together to keep it alive...? Or whether there is any way of setting it up so that posting of pics and comments/votes can be done in a similar way to the golden toadstool (which, may I add, I am going to try and enter every month from now on ;))

I was also late due to a very inconvenient fit of migrain this weekend, but I finished my entry yesterday. It was something of an ordeal. I worked for over 16 hours with only short breaks for food, and somewhere in the middle I drank too much coffee and got a serious caffeine rush. My hands started shaking like crazy! I don\'t recommend this strategy... :innocent: Well, I finished it and today I\'m hammered after sleeping for three hours... Good luck everyone! And I agree with Peter, it would be a shame if this comp went...

Hm, that\'s my ususal strategy....can\'t start working until after at least two big glasses of coffee :D

On topic: I finished all of my three entries in time. I really can\'t wait to see all the other entries.

Yeah, well, let\'s not get into the \"who\'s the biggest caffeine addict\" competition, (cause I\'ll win!) ;) lol

After yesterday I\'m not that keen on competing in coffee drinking! I\'ll go easy on the coffee for a while now... lol

If you want to avoid the migrain, you need to avoid the caffeine. Sorry to say, but caffeine has a proven link to migraines. Of course, the caffeine withdrawal is not picnic either but at least it ends. Your choice.
Personally I get all my caffeine from chocolate!
