Minimaker, I was not flaming, just venting my anger at a trend. I can do that if I want.

Well as long we\'re venting anger, I think you\'re a twit.

But that wasn\'t constructive nor was it meant to be.

I do think you have an overall bad attitude and express it quite liberally, which is your due and want, just don\'t be aggrivated when people decide to bitch back.

If I have a bad attitude FF, I may suggest likewise you have a pompous streak as wide as your waist-line.

On the other hand, that\'s the nature of the forums.

Thick as thieves the lot of us! Some pompous, some cheeky, some smarmy, some over-protective, some happy-clappy, some fawning, some funny, some intelligent, some neutral, some opposed.

I can\'t care a tits for some but I like others and I have a right to have a vent if I need to sometimes. Psychologists say that storing it all up messes with our brains and all :duh:. I was venting at a trend, not an individual. Pete responded otherwise as did you. That makes matters direct lol.

Yup, don\'t make your heart a cesspit as they say over here. Though I find for myself that using humour is more effective and pleasing. There is less chance of it dragging you deeper. Though I admit that there are days that\'s I find it better to take off the sharp edges first on a boxing ball (is that what it\'s called in English?) or a wooden dummy first before trying humour. :)

By the way, if the psychiatrists are telling you to do it in a way that upset others it\'s probably because they want more clients lol

Uh-oh, Rev. Now you\'ve done it. You\'ve gone and said something that others might not agree with. Don\'t you know you\'re not supposed to ever say anything that might in some vague way impugne upon the groups collective feeling of self-worth ??? How dare you express a contrary opinion  You\'ll upset the whole rhythmic, self-congradulatory, group-think gestalt thingie going on!!! Don\'t you know that these forums aren\'t for daring to express a contrary opinion :wow: or even the vaguest and most general form of criticism  Note how quickly they turn on you.

*chuckles*

Ok Phil, if you arent trying to provoke reactions like the one I gave (lol because i am stupid enough to fall for the trick) then you put forward your opinions in an accidentally inflammatory way. I dont have a problem with people having opinions, but people usually dont put them forward in quite such an offensive way.

Each to their own at the end of the day, and half the time i agree with what you say, it just balks me how you say it! It just seems deliberate to me.

You dont like the arrogance and put that point forward directly. I dont like the confrontational nature of some of your posts.

I just f**king hate you all! Put that in your thesis!

lol

Only kidding folks... well... eh hem...

In fact I\'m on top of the world coz I\'m a bit pissed!

Yay for vodka!

:D

And if it weren\'t for chimps like Rev pricking those pompous bubbles, where would the fun be in the world? We\'d all have to bitch about GW or some such other sh*t! The guy talks sense, even if he is a hate fuelled crack addict who I pay for sex.

We\'re luversh don\'t you know!

;)

oh hey...

i keep this in my photobucket just for convos like this one.
U.jpg

But of course i don\'t use it here... only on forums where i actually know the person i\'m sending it to directly.

Sorry you feel the way Pope. Actually i just wanted to sculpt a distinct face and i always see DR\'s face on the baords, and he did a tutorial on painting faces with his in it, and i was voting on minis and came across one he\'d converted to look like his face... so it seemed like something was trying to tell me to sculpt his face.lol Plus he\'s one of the more helpfull folks toward improving my own painting, so why not. Nothing ego about it... all my idea, but it\'s good sculpting practice.:)

Okay Pete, apart from this post when exactly have I \"...deliberately tried to shock and prompt reaction?\"

I dunno, you seemed pretty damn disappointed when nobody seemed to care about the picture you posted in the \"Paint Patriotically\" thread.......:D

Not really chap, I was having a laugh with the boy Donga666. It\'s a reflection of the way society is these days that I felt a little nervous at first when putting it up, but it certainly wasn\'t an attempt to inflame :).

And one more to Pete:

It\'s a wee bit more deliberate if I try to be nice to everyone all the time. When i type something and it seems I\'m a little pissed off it\'s because I am a little pissed off. It\'s me at that time putting my feelings out there you know?

That is not deliberate mate :). Any way, it\'s all becoming a wee bit silly now.

Greenstuff and Itchy (I think), sorry if I pissed you off. Wasn\'t at you.

Evil Dave, I\'ll keep that one lol. That\'s a top link!

@ Sturmhalo: I don\'t want sex no more. It hurts

When I read Reverend\'s original comment I had to laugh to myself.
I knew what sort of reaction it was going to get. And I wasn\'t wrong.

To be honest I could have taken offence at his comment as it did seem to read as if I was the target. OK Itchy\'s used my face as a model and to be honest I\'m flattered. Just like everyone else on here I have an ego, which is always nice to have padded occasionally. But he (Itchy) asked to use my ugly mug as an example to practise his sculpting skills, and hey I\'m enough of an egotist to say yes.

Reverend: The original aim of this thread, was how would we like to be portrayed. And let\'s be honest the majority of us would all like to be seen a little better, or thinner, or taller, or in my case A Lot Younger.

Oh and Rev, you\'d never make a good politician, you\'re too forthright and honest. :D

I\'m sorry, its hillarious the first time someone bites or when someone puts it out there, everyone scrambles seconds later to mend, kiss ass, make up, or group hug.

I stand by my \'twit\' comment 100% because I may be the only one saying it outloud but I sure as hell know that you\'ve been the topic of some private conversations. But in that, hell, be proud, you\'ve managed to irk people half way around the world and become a side conversation which I believe is normally your goal.

As for my being pompous ...

pom·pous Audio pronunciation of \"pompous\" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pmps)
adj.

1. Characterized by excessive self-esteem or exaggerated dignity; pretentious: pompous officials who enjoy giving orders.
2. Full of high-sounding phrases; bombastic: a pompous proclamation.
3. Chracterized by pomp or stately display; ceremonious: a pompous occasion.

Well, lets see about this. The first one I think I can see where you might infer that about me - but then again, as in many things, organization is the key to all things. Check out Paint Aid for the rest of us \'Pompous\' asses. We feel good about doing it too.

As for the second one, I believe that\'s called an education and I\'m sorry if I don\'t use words like l33t, w00t, cuz and any other number of idiotic internet short-hand. I don\'t I\'ve \'proclaimed\' myself with anything either. I do like that word Bombastic though. I\'ll have to figure out a way to work it into something.

And for the third one - just don\'t see it. But that\'s alright. Besides, with my being sick this last week, it seems that my pompous ass has gotten a bit thinner as my waist has shrunk. Yay for sickness, two birds with one stone!

:p

Lastly. You\'re awfully \'cheesed\' all the time. That can\'t be healthy. I\'m sure there are other ways to funnel that angst and anger.

Anyhow, as I\'ve been asked to play \'nice\' privately, I\'ll make this my last response to you and wish you many more happy trolling and flames for the future!

I don\'t usually reply to this kind of \"flame wars\", but I can\'t let Frustrated Father think that he\'s alone in this.
I agree with him 100%.

When I first started reading the CMON forums, I had a hard time believing that people could be so nice and respectful to each other on the internet. Anonymity certainly tends to bring out the worst about people.

I have to disagree with Dauber\'s post.
I\'m all for different points of view, and I kind of agree that sometimes people on these forums seem to go with the majority just to be accepted in the community.
The problem here, as I see it, is that there are a lot of different ways to say one thing, but the worst was chosen to express a different opinion.
The way you want people to treat you is totally up to you.
