ok, but I\'m still not convinced, I pay attention to her submisions, well because honestly her submissions are attention grabbing. I didn\'t see big drops in her overall rating durring either the margo thing or the CCV thing, actually no drop at all in her overal site rating, it\'s been consistant at 9.60 or 9.61 the entire time (and consisant for about the last 4-5 months actually).

A jump to 9.73 means an average of more than .1 on each of her minis (which is HUGE at the level we\'re speaking of).

So you\'re telling me that suddenly there were 2 \"audits\" in the last week that made that large a change?

The bigger issue would be that after the first audit which took her from 9.61ish to 9.69 before she fell back to about 9.66, there was then a 2nd audit last night which found ANOTHER huge pile of scores to take out which jumped her to 9.73.

Well, this is all the data I have. And if these scores are not reflective of her work, I am sure in the next few days/weeks, they will go back to whatever they should be. It is not like there is a deadline on voting, voting is constant, so we will see when the dust settles.

All I am saying at this point is if you were to accuse her of spamming votes, there has to be an increase in total votes, not a decrease. It makes no sense to imply that she did anything when all there is is a fluctuation in scores and not an increase in total votes. She can\'t change a low score vote to a high score vote no matter how computery savy she is. I can\'t even do that. So, can we just let her enjoy her achievement and get rid of the conspiricy theories? (as I can see from looking at the data, her crown might not last as long as everyone thinks )

The reason it\'s hard is math. Each 10 you get on a mini ranked 9.5, affects the ranking 1/20 at much as a 1.

so if you were to go down those places from 10 sniper votes, you\'d need 200 10\'s to make up for it (and knowing this place you wouldn\'t get all 10\'s in your next 200 votes a lot of 9\'s and 8\'s will be mixed in).

And knowing the rate of votes, even on minis ranked 9.5+ on the site, those 200 votes would take a while to add up.

Ooh thats a very good point Eric, in my own work I\'m really trying to concentrate on the whole \"life in the mini\" kind of feel. I\'m doing some very naturalistic pieces at the moment and am quite pleased with the results, though I wouldn\'t expect them to do as well on here, since they are not as \"clean\" as a lot of the top painters\' work (not a criticism, just an observation about the difference in peoples styles).

Borg, the only evidence you mention of her total votes going down are AFTER this thread started, AFTER her score had already jumped way way up, not before. I\'m speaking about before

I don\'t care who\'s number 1. If it\'s Alexi so much the better for her, I personnally think she didn\'t cheat.
She\'s a great painter, deserves a great rank. But I think we all agree on that.

I don\'t think either #1 spot is that great a motivation. We got other painters that deserve it there, not even in the top 50. Raoul Latorre for example.

So hell, I don\'t care for this. As long as we get other pics of her minis up here .
And photos on her journal too .

Is it a case of the number of votes going down because the low scores have been removed.
Becuase a mini is at 9/9.5 a vote of 10 would surely be within the alogarithym parameters and thus not removed.


So an average 5 mini would have the 1\'s and 10\'s removed.
an average 9 would keep the 10\'s

Borg, I understand, and I wish I had taken better note of vote counts before as well so I could give you better numbers, so my evidence on that point is nothing more than generally what I noticed, nothing hard.

But I\'m saying that what\'s happened in the last 10 hours has no baring on what I\'m talking about is all.

Like I said, anything is possible, but everything will eventually settle back to whatever they should be at. So just give it a little time before you get upset.

well like I said I\'m not upset because of the scores, I\'m upset because of cheating.

And also, if she deserves 9.60 overall rating and is at 9.73 after 2400 votes, the time it will take for a pile of votes averaging of 9.60 to pull that score back down to even say 9.62 is...well 1000\'s (math is hard) which takes months or years. Until then are we happy to live with a tainted #1 and the reminder that cheeters can win?

Reminds me of steriods and baseball and Barry Bonds with his home runs, which I think in this case is a pretty good analogy.

PS I\'m not even saying that Alexi did the altering herself mind you, just that it happened, could have just as easily been an unaffiliated fan-boy.

Why are you concentrating so much on Alexi\'s scores? You are a superb painter in your own right so is she - does it really matter to you what HER score is?

Am I alone in finding it distateful that you accuse another forum member of cheating - repeatedly - on this thread?

I didn\'t have much time for Alexi\'s behaviour over CCV but she is showing a lot of diplomacy here and has not retaliated (yet).

This thread seems to have pretty much become a two way between you and Borg - can I suggest that you move to PM and spare the rest of us!

Or am I alone here?
