Alexi is a world-class painter, FACT! It doesn\'t surprise me in the least that she is currently in the number one slot. To compare her to Robius is really over-the-top. Robius was getting numerous arse-licking comments from supposedly different people which contained exactly the same linguistic errors and who never appeared to comment on anyone else, and have since disappeared.
I think that too much is being asked of the CMON engine. It is meant to be a fun site fellas??? It gives you an \'idea\' of what other people think of your work. That\'s where it starts and that\'s where it ends. There is no money involved....bookmakers do not keep a close eye on this site...fortunes aren\'t won and lost...are they?

I am sooooo with Sturm and Nom on this. Jeez, do you people have ANY idea what you sound like?! I don\'t have a rank yet, having only three minis up, but if I did it would probably be in the high 5\'s! To me, this is like someone saying \"They cheated! I\'m definately more GODLIKE than they are!\" please...if I ever made the top 1000 I\'d be as happy as a pig in shit! Like someone else said, how can you choose between Michaelangelo and DaVinci? It\'s absurd. I don\'t know any of you very well, and have no clue what a CCV is, but Alexi NOT getting mad and having class about this shows she is the better PERSON, if not painter! I know the sheer NEGATIVITY in this thread will definately effect the way I feel when voting on certain people\'s minis in the future, weather conciously or not.
Alexi\'s Norks ARE very lovely, and could easily get her a 10 on CooltittiesorNot, but this is about ART people, and I never let a person\'s looks effect the way I feel about their talent. If everyone did that, people would think Toulouse-Lautrec was a hack!

I think you guys are being a bit harsh on Eric. I don\'t post much and I don\'t know him, but he certainly hasn\'t seemed to be the overreactive type in the past.
Who cares- he does. So what do you care what he cares about? The ranking is important to some and that\'s fine.
He does seem to have a point about oddness in one way or the other. No sense in putting him down because he\'s curious about it.

I don\'t fault Eric\'s inquiry. There has been no one that has dethrone Victoria in so many years, and sudden movements will attract some attention. But I for one, feel that a) her getting #1 is almost inevitable, as she is the most prolific artist in the top 10. It is just a matter of time. b) there was not a bunch of extra votes to indicate that either her or her fan boys did anything unusual. In fact there was less votes, which means that some of her lowball votes were pruned. c) Each of her pieces are pretty much dead on with the scoring. And with all that in mind, I feel confident that his concerns were addressed.

But I don\'t think his concerns were addressed since he was talking about votes that happened before the thread and did show a large vote count increase in a short period of time. It seems like it won\'t be possible to really find out what happened though, so it\'s left to conjecture.
Inevitable as it may be, victoria has 4 pieces rated higher than the highest of Alexi\'s, so the march to #1 may have to wait a bit.

I am becoming more and more convinced that if Alexi was a fat, bald man in his fifties, possibly with a moustache...maybe not...she would not be getting half the criticism she currently attracts. She is brilliant. She is prolific...what do people expect???
But Victoria, Goddess of paint that she is, only posts a couple of minis a year. Her sole two posts in 2004 were put up as much for eBay purposes as anything else. No one appreciates Victoria\'s work more than me, but that level of engagement will not keep you at number one.
