Holly *#$@, thats funny chicken nugets!
MMm I think you're correct lava don't really do it for me with this guy, green is go! also grey like you say will do it.
The lava is great but more you need "white" hot looking to finish though, I think then it will loose the mustard and ketchup look.

Interensting about the nail polish will look that one up!

I like the left shoulder armor is there going to be a gouge in the armor?

Great work, smooth transistions on the skin looks sick :)

Thanks guys,

Canny, That shoulder has some veins that don't really show up in the photo. I am still going back and forth over the skin a little. I hope the effect isn't too subtle.

Okay, The crackle paint turned out pretty sweet! It was a little frustrating at first and I almost ditched it but some flow-aid swirld around in the bottom of my dried out Thraka Green GW wash saved the day! Colors are a tad washed out in the cellphone pic but i think I am pretty close. A little more work on the green and some more variation in my grey and I think I should be able to move on to the girder section of the base.

Okay guys, I am not quite done with this guy but here he is all stacked up on his base. I plan to do green OSL coming off of the toxic sludge. I am going to use very thinned bright green paint in the air brush. I call it "spray and pray" :)

Here is the part where I need your help! Please give me some criticism on this guy. Take a good look. There are TONS of mistakes! Point some out and comment. Criticism is one of the most useful tools we have for improvement. (Right behind encouragement!) So, If you have a second, type me a couple of lines about what you would do different. Thanks!

Very nice work Demi! I think the photo is not the best, the colouls seems muted. Or to much light? I dont see many problems here, nice work i think 8)

He is looking really good Demi,
I think the eyes are perfect on the right chest, I think the teeth are too white and stand out a bit much, a couple glazes of brown or something.
The right leg plate and power fist look great, love that carved look. I'm not too keen on the look of the vein on the top left plate. I think the flesh is almost perfect there are afew areas where the blue veins are a bit strong a wash of the pink will sort that. The face is great, pulls the viewer straight in. The base is awesome, the best yet! The green osl will make it uber awesome!

I hope this is helpful Demi

Ok, I shall be brutally honest with you, ITS AWESOME! Though awesome won't help you improve and since you asked for input I shall do my best. The right foot on the rock is out of place, it needs some serious weathering to fit in with the rusted structure its on. Also the blue things all over the body, I am not sure what those are. I am guessing its too small for me to see in the photo and are veins or something but it kind of looks like blue confetti. Every thing else is just Bangarang!

The osl will put it over the top. I want to see a little more contrast on the concrete rubble though. maybe some brown and purple in the shadows and a very light white dry brush too. I think you also need to lower the exposure on the camera as the skin is losing a lot of it's detail - kinda looks like a pink mess, but your wip thread showed some nice veins and details and subtle shades. Also, some toxic green ooze leaking from joins in the armour or a few of his pipes and hoses might tie it to the base better, but wait to do that until after the OSL - don't want too much green :)

Thanks a ton guys! That is exactly what I needed to hear. Except for you Digga, confetti? Don't you think that's a little harsh? Lol, just kidding. Sound's like I need to go back over the skin and clean up my veins. Maybe I will add some green veins. Green ooze sounds awesome but not sure how to do it. I will also tackle those weird mouth parts. I'll see what I can do about anchoring that foot a little better too.

Seriously, thanks a ton guys. Sometimes I get so far down the road on these projects I lose sight of where I was headed.

To me, I think the head gets lost in the chest, most likely from the picture. I like the toxic green. I've tried Vallejo's crackle medium, is that the same stuff you used? It didn't really work out for me so far, how did you get it to work? I've tried mixing it with the paint, painting over it, etc and it wouldn't crackle..

Again, I love the copper NMM. Text book. However, I don't like the hoses leading to the gun and the left underarm. Also, if you could provide some more angle shots it would be easier to complain :worship!:

But overall I had to think hard about what to criticize, so you must be doing something right!!!

Khonner, I got "Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint" It comes out like a gel so you can slop it on pretty thick. It comes in different colors but I just got clear gloss. It doesn't mix well with anything and it does not like to be disturbed while it is drying. You can thin it and clean up with water but the more you thin it the smaller the crackles are. Alternately, the more you put on at once, the bigger the crackles are.
