Joan looks great Demi, as for the dark age the one riding the lizard sounds cool, but if your looking at a faction think do I like the look of all the models in that box and the one with the least not really's go for that one. easier to stay motivated to finish them all

Hmmm, are you going to play or just paint? If play, yeah, get a starter box! Pick the one you think look coolest, I personally like Brood the most.

If paint, you have a lot of options - what do you want to paint right now? There are tons of monsters both big (huge) and small (Brood and Skarrd), aliens (Kulkulkani and Dagyri), robots (Core), and wastelanders (Outcasts, Forsaken and Skarrd, though the latter is really freaky sado cyber mutants).

As for favourites, I like their large models a lot, like Numbskull, Abomination, Howler and the two Juggernauts. I got Numbskull and will pick up a couple of the others for my Legion points. The Archangels are also really nice models (unfortunately out of stock).

My experience is that the casts are real good with few flaws, but the metal is soft and some minis have stupid fiddly bits.

DH-Some of the more recent figures they have released, from their new faction, look cool. Legionnaire types. That's where I'd go, and I'd put them on some Scibor style Egyptian bases.

Joan looks cool. The only thing I can point out is to increase the contrast on her rib/abdominal armor. Pick out the edges with some light and hit the corners with some dark. Ya dig?

GreenOne

I paint my thumb.
Is the collar area with the red lights where you tried the osl? If thats the case it's a bit unclear ( the area is anyway.). Real neat and strong contrast on that bit would make it serve its purpose better.
The purple thin that's leaking fuzzy stuff on the base looks messy too, it's like the stuff negates the shading on the grate besides it and makes the part hard to read.
The blending on the purple sword is kinda rough, and if it's a magical, or power sword maybe make the glow effect stronger and if not maybe tone it down.

Besides that looking good

Joan looks great, I would suggest intead of hard linging the out side of the block she is standing on, make the line broken so it looks chipped and rough. Little dots on the edge with a few short lines. It currently lets the figure down at the mo.

Top work on the armor only comment is it could be hit with the "contrast hammer" lights are a little strong considering the darks, increasing the Black on the armor would increase only takes the smallest amount. making the base slighty darker too will pull the eye towards the mini, at the moment its compeating.

Face is fantastic you're getting a real skill and style there.
paint on Demi your work is awesome, leaps and bounds.

Thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate the help.

Canny, talked me into deepening the shadows in general, darkening the base and adding some more texture. I used thinned black witha tiny bit of red in it per his suggestion and I think it helped to tighten things up a bit.

Zab, I added some more grunge to base as well.

GreenOne, you pointed out a couple of the things that I felt iffy about. The neck was a little slap-dash so I redid some of it and tried to really pick out the lines of the armor and make it consistent with the shadows on her chest. I also worked a little more on the osl on the base. Darkening the bases made it look a little more realistic I think. It's still not master class but I liek it enough to leave it on there. I might give it a spritz with the airbrush and see if that doesn't sell it a little better.

BFoK I went back in a darkened the tummy plates. I am not sure I got more contrast but I feel they pull from the face less now.

Now what do you think? These photos are a little darker/crappier then the last ones but hopefully you can see the difference.

Edit: Better pic:

Here is a shot of the sword. That's as smooth as I get guys :) It is reacting weird with the grey background. I painted it the way I did because i was copying the box art. I got to chat a little with Mr Giraldez, the original artist and he said he had originally painted it NMM and then Corvus Belli said they wanted it OSL so he sort of half re-did it.

And here is a better angle on the OSL thing. Not a great photo but you can see what I am trying to do better. GreenOne I am going to try and get some better focus shots on this project when i get down to finalizing it.

I thought she looked amazing before the touch up,but no. Demi can't stop there. He has to go and add more awesome to it. Haha. This is one of the best infinity minis I've seen Demi.

top job mate, having the base darker really lets your eye move up the mini to finish at the face, great work. Perfect with the extra colour in the shadows! looking very tidy. The grunge is that little extra that makes it come together too.

I gotta say Infinity look like a pleasure to paint, the Morats I have are so crisp in the sculping, Must finish more to start more!
