Enigma Ujahu conversion

One of two figs I won in Enigma\'s banner contest a while back. Not really a fan of the blank mask on the original (see here) so always had it in mind to convert it somehow but wasn\'t sure what I\'d do until I started to play around with it.

The additions were mostly done in GS just to see if I still could after using MagicSculp for all major work for so long.

Very good GS work, and I know what you mean about the orginal model, this looks much better.

Great looking mini, good luck with the rest of it.....stu.....

Wow, that looks very very nice Einion....I\'ve got this mini too, but seeing the change in feeling you have created here makes me think I might have to try to steal your idea and do the same one day!

Twisted staff looks very nice, but the face is excellent. Very impressed!

Thanks Sebastian, would love to see what you\'d do along the same lines, especially once you paint it. I\'m a bit hesitant about painting it myself as I can\'t decide on a colour scheme but I\'ve started on the groundwork so nearly at the stage I\'ll shoot it with primer.

A project for World Expo perhaps>? ;) Are you coming along? I\'m making the big trip - BIG trip for me haha, jsut about as far as it is possible to travel...you know it\'s a long way when it doesn\'t really make any difference whether you set of to the east or west! haha

My own WE project which I\'m working on at the moment has certain similarities with this project, I have to say! But I like your conversion work better than mine :D

Looong flight for you! I\'m not going this time for a couple of reasons - the Expos are very hit and miss, could be great, could be disappointing.

I\'m sure yours is much better (sure will be when painted!) :)

Best of luck at the show, hope the lighting\'s good.

Update!

This was sitting idle on my desk for a while and looking at it fresh after a month or two I decided it needed more work, so after plenty of grinding and lots of fresh Kneadadite here\'s the updated green:

As someone who is always in awe of good sculpting I have to say.....
Why blazes don\'t you sculpt figures for companies?
Or Better still do a range yourself.

I\'ve been able to do Replacement Fingers and Thumbs and fill gaps, add hair, make worms/snakes so I really appreciate the skill that the work you are showing takes.

Thanks Mike. Working down to 1/32 scale was challenging (used to specialise in busts and 1/16) and anything smaller, like this, is a real stretch for me when it comes to the details... eyes aren\'t what they used to be you understand! So that\'s part of it.

Workin\' on it though :) This is one of the reasons for this piece, to practice with Kneadatite at this scale.

...how did you make the surface on the cape?
Rolled out the GS, did the basic shaping, trimmed the edges a bit, then added some of the worn edges in the style of the original sculpt. After I cut in the edges of the panels with the tip of a sharp sculpting tool I added some fine creasing, to look like it was roughly stitched together with tension here and there. It looked a little too uniform at that stage so I stippled it lightly with a brush to add a fine pocked texture and did some more of the holes near the hem.
