Wow, a new Flash, a remade Barbarella. I\'m guessing I can expect to see Buck Rodgers back on screen soon.

Seems the sucess of Battlestar Gallactica caught the people who finance this stuff\'s attention.

As long as they don\'t make Twiki a hot female chick:

Oh and no way Ming should look like that, Ming Must and I say MUST at least have an \'evil\' Goatee, massive eyebrows are near necessity as well. I see that pic and I hope that\'s a pic of the actor being eccentric in his attire for a photoshoot and not his actual Ming Costume. He also must be bald, or have a Widow\'s peak that nears his nose.

EDIT: hahaha, I just found this when double checkign that Goatee is spelled Goatee:

EDIT2: here\'s Flash:

EDIT3: oh god no, I just so a shot of Dr. Zarkov, and he looks like a comp sci geek still living in his parents basement.

Oh come on DF! Dark and dirty, broken stuff, crew members having sex and kids, running low/out of beans and bullets, uber cool space battles and ships. And lastly nasty (and sometimes sexy  ) bad guys. Whats not to love?

O. MAI. GAWT. That image creeps me out just looking at it. Why, by all that is beautiful and good, did they make him like THAT? Its reason enough to not watch it.

At least the remake of BSG has Edward James Olmos as Commander Adama. This FG remake looks like they just took the cast of some late afternoon teen swoon tv show and recostumed. They better pray that they\'ve got the BEST writers in the world, or I may just have to projectile vomit in their direction. And I don\'t even plan to watch it.

Pretty much everything you just said? :)

I call it Emostar Galactica, but I realize I\'m in the minority. It\'s not a pimple on the ass of Firefly, IMO.

First review I saw of the new Flash says that Ming is about as threatening as a granola bar, and mainly just looks like he got lost on the way to Dunkin Donuts. lol

I don\'t know if they\'ll remaster Barbarella, although they are remaking it...sigh.

Won\'t be any good. You can\'t romp on screen with your boobs hanging out like you could in the \'70\'s early \'80\'s and that was the point of the whole movie!

Lizcam and some peroxide maybe? :D

I NEED no peroxide. I\'m a natural blond and can PROVE it!

Alas, I no longer have teh body of a Barbarella (never did. <sigh>) I look like her aunt Birtha now. You REALLY don\'t want me in that role. How about Wiccanpony?

I\'ve got an idea! How about Lucy Lawless as Barbarella? I think she\'d be great!

Oh by all the dark gods! :D
Ming the Mild
Ming the \"evil George Bush\"
Ming the \"my Daughter is scarier then I\"
I\'m sorry, but I\'m still laughing.
Flash Gordon the marathon winner (sorry 3 time winner), lives with his mom, and is not the football star. It has some potential, but the movie was better. So far the scairies of the bad guys is the doctor on the floating segway <sp?> And the Imex, come on I knew were it was in the first 20 minutes. I hope campy was what they where looking for, because thats what they got lol:bouncy::D

Oh, come on. While I enjoyed Firefly, it was like Gilmore Girls in space, all the witty banter, the humorous situations, the unrequited love stories, add in a dash of Buffy or Dark Angel with Summer Glau...it was lucky it got cut short, going out a legend, because it would have dragged and sucked as much as Buffy did in the end.

For those of us that have been in the military, especially the Navy, Battlestar captures the military feel that so many shows try to capture but just can\'t seem to quite make it.

And for those of us who appreciate banter, humor, and action without constant gloom, doom and tears, Emostar is a snoozefest. /shrug

I would get in on this debate but I haven\'t seen either battlestar Galactica or Firefly. That\'s what comes from not having satelite t.v.

Dude, I\'m not arguing whether you like it or not, what I\'m saying is you are comparing apples to oranges. The only common denominator is they are both in space.

Firefly is a light hearted tale of a group of misfits that often skirt around the law. It is meant to be banterish, and tounge in cheek.
It is an Action/Adventure show.

Battlestar is about the survival of the human race against a vastly superior foe. It is meant to be dark, emotional, violent and much more realistic. It is a Drama show. (And I dare say, if you were to witness the destruction of your home planet, searching for some fabled safe haven, whilst being pursued by robots that want to kill you, you\'d be a bit emotional as well. I also seriously doubt you or any real person would make some cute quips while dodging bullets from a seven foot metal monstrosity bent on your destruction. Levity of this nature doesn\'t fit into the realistic theme of the show.)

So while you may not like Battlestar, to say that it is worse is a bad call. It is merely different, as they are meant to be. They are both very good at what they are trying to portray.

Look under shows they should both be in there.

Thanks Evil Dave. The problem is that my computer is crap. It struggles with a 5 minute youtube video. I fear it will explode if I try and watch an actual full program. lol

For the record, I only lasted until the first commercial break before I gave up on Flash Gordon. Bleh.

Dave, I really don\'t care whether you think my opinion of Battlestar is a \'bad call\' or not. That\'s ok; to each his own. You like the show, great. Enjoy it. I personally find it dreary, uninteresting and not worth my time, and no explanation of what you view as the show\'s strengths is going to change that opinion or make it less valid to me.

One point though - if I were ever being chased by a seven foot tall killer robot from outer fuckin\' space, I don\'t think I\'d be emotional at all - unless you count lying on the ground in the fetal position crapping my pants as \'emotional\'. And *that\'s* realism.
