French Gd

Dear Koen,
I\'m sure that Matt and I will find the time somehow! In fact I planned and started collecting pieces for my entry quite some time ago. Don\'t look for me in the single miniature catagories this year though! Regards, Joe.

PS Sorry Allan I was told 18, either way it doesn\'t matter, I\'d be just as impressed if you were 40 (no offense to any 40 year olds!).

Ok Joe, I expected as much (*sighs*
;) ). I\'ll probably will enter in the fantasy single and the 40k monster, though I don\'t know if I have time for a third category. I\'ll see you there then (or at least your mini\'s).

lol It seems like I\'m a bit behind, lots of people seem to have finished some of their entries for UKGD already

I haven\'t even decided on which categories to do yet lol

Right here\'s an important question:
as the rules have been posted for the German GD will they be the same for UK GD?

Wish I knew how they do metallics like that. We are seriously in need of articles from those guys (in English) :)

Jarret, I\'ll second that request for articles! Well done to both Allan C and Cyril, top notch work.

Cheers, Darkblade

No

I know the boys at GWUK are rewriting the rules completely, and will be producing a booklet on it nearer the time...

Yes but how near to the date, before they publish them? I\'ve already started on one of my planned entries, and have several on the drawing-board.
As have a few of the people from my local store.....If we\'re going to be limited to the number of categories that could really b****r up some peoples plans.

Argh hope they arent loads different and make some of my already complete/almost complete minis unenterable :~(
New rules are needed but i hope they arent anything stupidly different.
Tbh they could have at least issued them earlier as they are new :S
well i guess we\'ll just have to see :(

As far as I understood it it\'s more of a tightening up of the rules then an overhaul...better be, already finished two entries!

My god! Did Jeremie paint all those little angels and stuff on that scale (see category 8). Cause, that\'s impossible!
Every winner is so good, that\'s not even normal in the UK GD. I am stunned.....

uups..sorry..heres is my comment:

yoreally cannot imagine the level of the contest, because there was a lot of entries that didn\'t place in the podium, like bruno grelier\'s one that wer a surelly golden demon in all the others countries...I will put here a photo when i can...instead the photo quality isn\'t so good...but you have to see it...for my taste there were another 20 sttuning pieces that didn\'t win.
believe me it was incredible..
sorry for my english

Some nice stuff i see :) maybe one of the best i have seen yet. I must say that there are a lot more original ideas in France GD than at the UK. They seem to \"go for it\" more than we do here.
Anywho, it looks great...

*mischeivious smile* there is nothing like sowing a little panic among friends... from what i understand, it should be more of a tightening and clarification of the current UK rules... i dont know whether they will spread to the other events (which seem to be a fairly haphazard affair at the moment)

I doubt it, since the other ones are organized by the repective parts of the organisation the event is held, i.e. Germany Gw Germany etc...and they do not have to hold to the letter of what the UK GW guys have decided is a good idea this time round....
clarifiation is good tho, the rumor is that one of the reasons Matt Parkes chaos Dragon Rider didn\'t win the sword two years ago because it wasn\'t based properly.... dunno, that\'s what\'s going round, and it would be nice if they would clarify stuff like that more....(even though it does say it in the rules, but you know what i mean)

Am I the only one who sees the the Michelangelo influence on Jeremie\'s piece? To me it\'s reminescent of the Sistine chapel wall (yes wall, not ceiling) Like I said before, maybe living in Europe has it\'s advantages when you need inspiration? :p
