Hey folks, GD Canada was yesterday and I know we ALL want some pics. However the eternally slow GW won\'t have them up today, and not tomorrow. It took them 2-3 days getting the Chicago pics up

However I know one thing.. a man that has been painting for one year won the Slayer Sword. He\'s a member of the Bolter And Chainsword forum , that\'s where I got the news.

Yep. I\'ve spoken to the UK GW webteam in the past and they\'re all gamer / techies and on the ball.
Can\'t seem to say the same about the US / Canada Webteam. (The saying Mollasses in November comes to mind.)

I think its the US web team that set up the summer campaign site each year, so they\'re not all bad :D

What on earth does Mollasses in November mean? That one has gone COMPLETELY over my head

congrats

for those of you that don\'t know yet, congrats go out to angela imrie who took home another three trophies. the PA system was so bad though, that it was hard to tell what it was that she won the trophies for. hope GW gets the pics up soon.

I hear that...

Jason Richards won 3 golds and 1 silver. Can\'t say I didn\'t expect it though...

What I like most about the UK and Baltimore GDs is that Stuff Of Legends covers it, and that guarantees fantastic picks of all winners plus most entrants. Oh well, I\'m sure we\'ll start seeing more stuff soon from our northern neighbors...

I got lucky enough to have a talk with him. Great guy, I personally thought that he should have won the sword for his Fantasy entry (I\'m one of those people who prefers style over absolute perfection). I think he got four goldes, though he only brought three onto the stage.

I know he got:
Fantasy Single
Fantasy Large
Battle Scene

I think he got:
Large Scale Model

And he got a silver in:
40K Single

The slayer winner

And only after 1 year of painting???

He did spend over 400 hours on it though

Awesome !!!

That must be why I haven\'t won a Golden Daemon yet, outside of never entering, I don\'t think I have spent 400 hours painting all my minis combined !! Seriously though, this piece and many others are awesome. Congrats are extended to the unnamed artist!

Dude, that Juggernaut has S-T-Y-L-E, and it\'s perfect to boot. Totally cool.

Maybe it\'s just that I don\'t like the style as much as the darker more gothic styles. Its an excellent piece and deserving of the sword, however I prefer Richards\' models.

just a quick browse through those entries tells me that the stadard of the winners is much higher than some of the US Gd\'s this year...awesome....

A years painting! That makes me sick! I doubt I do 400 hours painting a year. Though if I spent it all on one model maybe I could be that good.....Yeah right! Its a great effort very fine by any standard. Congratulations to him, well deserved.

We got rather lucky this year. Angela Imrie made the trek north of the border and Jason Richards decided to stay in Canada while he works out some stuff. also the Sword winner came out of nowhere and the amount of entries were phenomenal. I just couldn\'t help myself from constantly wandering back the display area.

Something I noticed about most of the entries: all of them are very colorful and bright. Quite unusual and striking!
