My best advice to you is to do some sports if you don't already, or swim/ take long walks. it can be hard to get into but it is the best thing to raise your mood. I have not had a serious committed relationship before I hope you are well.

Howdy, montka - I've been lurking since the start (although I did comment once, a couple of pages back.) As before, I've been keeping schtum because I'm just not sure what to say. I'm pretty sure it's not just me that's keeping an eye out for how you're doing. It's an assumption, I know, but I reckon there are lots of folks out there rooting for you, and really hoping that you get through this. Certainly, speaking for myself, I can see that you're a decent guy in a difficult position with a difficult problem to work through. I still think it's something that can be helped by having a good support network around you - obviously the folks here on the forum will do what we can, but people like doctors can help too. I realise you're not the biggest fan of doctors, and have had less than stellar experiences with some of them, but I know quite a few of them (I have several in the family, although theyre all GPs rather than psychiatrists) and they all got into the job because they wanted to help folk, not for the money or prestige or any other crappy reason. It all comes down to individuals, I suppose - if you've had bad luck with docs so far, it doesnt mean all docs are bad, just that the ones youve met so far havent been right for you. I hope you'll find someone that can support you properly. Regardless, please keep posting here and don't feel disheartened if people don't post back straight away. We're here, we want to know how you're doing, and we have faith that you can get through this. :)

Well, police forensics will be at my flat tomorrow as a brick was used to smash through my window and now my laptop, camera and videocam have been stolen.

Fortunately I was in hospital at the time but this is not tolerable in a society where social housing for mentally vulnerable people is meant to be there to protect them.

I am back to my parents house where things will be interesting no doubt as I don't get on with them particularly well, but thank God I have somewhere to go to not like some people less fortunate than myself I feel for them worse than I do for me. I hope things settle down at Mawsons court in the future (the accomodation for wackos where I live) but I don't feel safe to go back there after this has happened.

I have been discharged from hospital in time for Christmas though :D

Well, damn. Welcome home for Christmas. As for the rest, keep working on it - at least thats what my shrink keeps telling me.

First of all, Merry Christmas.

I've had a good talk with my ex and we've decided to break up, but continue as friends.
Though I've still got some hard times ahead, this has at least given me a bit of peace of mind.
We both feel we want to spend the rest of our lives with each other.
But with all our individual problems, we just can't bear each others as well.
Those problems have been driving us apart these last few weeks.

We both hope to share our lives with each other, in whatever shape or form.
And it will be tough for the other if one of us meets someone new.
For now, we're best friends.

(That was me whining, now here's me helping :p)

I don't know if you still can, but don't be alone for christmas.
Invite friends, family, who ever you want, just have a good time.

make it a really MERRY CHRISTMAS

Montka,

I too have been lurking here and thinking of your situation.
Much positive has been said.

I'd like to take a distinctively positive step in this direction.
It so happens that today is my birthday and I am getting myself
a lovely present. I would like to order a commission from you.

I have a HUGE number of minis and would like to send you one
which you can paint in your own style and with an interesting base.
We can work out your standard rate and pay method via PM.
I will pay 50% up front.

I have a great deal of the following, so pick several faves so I
have choices:
1) Rackham ( everything but Kelts )
2) WH 40K Orcs
3) PP Trollbloods ( Everything...really....)
4) WH Ogre Kingdoms

Include a shipping address for the mini in your PM

And if you act now....I'll include, at no extra cost....2 extra quality
minis for you to commission out to your best advantage.

This will be my birthday present to myself.

Hang in there, my friend.

Chris

Mourner,

Sorry to hear your tale.
If it helps any, maybe my story will help.
It turns out that I am closer to my ex-wife now than
I was when we were married. We are there for each
other whenever times get tough. Both attribute to the
simple process of growing up and gaining some perspective.

We are both happily married to others. We had 3 boys together.
Sadly out youngest is long gone, but she has another son from
her second marriage and somehow we are one big ( mostly )
happy extended family.

I sincerely hope that you two can continue to find the best in each
other through the changes your lives will bring. Maybe time and
perspective will bring you closer; maybe not. Enjoy what you have
to offer each other and root for your mutual happiness.

Best of luck with it.

Steve Jobs said this more eloquently than I ever could

"Almost everything -- all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure -- these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."

We're all dead men walking, there's nothing left to fear. Live your life, and be happy.
