The chaps in my local GW store at Canterbury Kent U.K. are alright, very Very helpful. Mind you they know me now, and as my wife and daughter usually get my mini\'s they are pleased to see them!!!!! Initially they were a little bit annoying, trying to boast about their painting skills, the usual big headed juvenile banter, and hard sales tactics. with the smell from some of the customers being a little heavy at times, and the music a bit predictable. However they know their stuff when I ask them questions, and are always on hand with the info if needed. I think I can say I like them!!!!!

Hey Krom, you live far from me?
ps. I used to work in GW Canterbury, Ben still there?

Well if you become a stockholder, you might find your position on GW might change a bit. They do well, your stock does well. Heck you might even find yourself rooting for high profit margins!!
Seriously, if your going to buy thier minis anyway, you might as well get a return on your support.

Just my two cents.

Which buys .00004% of GW stock.

(okay I made that up)

Hi mickc22,
I live in Sunny Dover, and yes Ben is still there, if he is the stocky chap with fair hair and a small beard. He is a very helpful chap.
How long ago did you work there?

The don\'t get paid in minis, but they minus well be because the majority of them end up using their whole pay check on minis. That\'s what I\'ve seen.

I spend my whole pay check on minis too (or at least most of my disposable income after rent, food, nappies etc), and I DON\'T work at GW. Get a grip!

GW employees are like everybody else. Some are great and some are complete assholes. I\'ve known plenty of both.

I didn\'t say anything about customers. I said the employees do it alot. I know the customers do it too. And when did this turn into a buisness convo? lol

I worked for GW for 4 years and never got paied in minis at any time... maybe because I live in Denmark and we complain about stuff like that before it happens :p GW didn\'t know what they got themselves into when they opened a store over here ;) hehe...

Let\'s just say, the pay as a shop assistant here is about the same as a manager in england :p Makes you wonder why I wanna move to england to work as a manager... uhmm... ahh yes, it\'s not the money that matters ;)

The employees in my local GW are absolute stars!!
They\'ve survived countless managerial changes there, virtually run the place from time to time, synical of it all but professional enough to help lovely grandmas coming in looking for something specific for little Johnnie, and not to shout at the 10th person coming into the store asking \"do you sell PS2 games?

They also are aware of a world of miniatures beyond GW, and really appreciate miniature art.

Good guys all round

as in every workplace, there\'s as much variety as there is on these forums
