I think just dividing YB into similar categories as the biguns would be a solution. Then you could enter whatever size you want and you woudn\'t have 200 entries competing for 3 measly trophies.
That was what GW said. Tommy Juskus and Iago Pineda are prodigies, nearly every YB winner apart from them would barely make first cut in an adult category. They really were exceptional, and not every YB winner/entrant is like that. That\'s the point of YB, to give us a better chance of winning something. Really, I don\'t see why YB should be any different from single miniature. It DOES restrict us, because although we are allowed to enter in the other categories, nearly every Youngblood has very little chance of winning anything in a category other than YB. It is our sole chance for glory in the competition. Some GDs have had YB WHFB single mini, YB 40K single mini, and YB LOTR single mini categories. This at least would be better. Obviously, taking this theory all the way would eventually mean having a seperate competition for 14s and under, but that is ridiculousOriginally posted by Medved
now i may not be liked for this comment, but i think the yB rules are a good thing. there is nothing to stop you entering the other categories too. Tommy Juskus won a bronze in duel the same year he won gold inYB\'s. Us oldies don\'t get to enter it do we.

I agree with Cedric. And this is GW\'s own competition, so they can do whatever they like. If you\'re disqualified from entering Youngbloods, then enter one of the other categories instead. Most adults who enter the \"adult\" competitions don\'t win anything either!
Ten years or so ago, I was really in to tyranids, so I painted a lictor and entered it in the monster contest. If I had been trying to get a young blood award then I would have been forced to paint a plastic mini, of which there were very few back then. So you still have much more room for manuever in choosing what to paint than people did a few years ago.
Paint what you want to paint because it\'s fun to paint, don\'t let a competition get in the way of the fun.

This just seems like the two classic counter-arguments to genuine, completely understandable complaints against institutions/big groups etc.:
1. You have no control over it, its not owned by you, so stop complaining.
2. It was even worse way back when, so stop complaining now - you\'re lucky its a bit better.
Just unhelpful really...
I\'m sorry you completely missed my point, Marmoset. Pick dragons or dragon ogres or anything that\'s substantially larger than a single 28mm mini, it\'s going to have a bigger initial effect on the judge. I say that letting large minis in on the same category as small ones is unfair. Comparing apples and oranges is what it is.Originally posted by Marmoset
Modderhu, your point about dragons maybe having more impact doesn\'t quite make sense; what I am saying is that YB should be the same as adult single mini, and dragons aren\'t entered there.
...
Now you see how unfair this is?
