(prices going up is part of course due to the inflationary practice of fractional reserve banking, it\'s your money that is worth less, not the price going up[supply and demand is another part of it] for the most part)
add to this increases in taxation and you have your reasons.
and those that are complaining about £2.50 per model when buying twenty five, wake up you prats, you readily spend £10+ on a single man sized model of theirs because it\'s more important in the game!
£2.50 for a good quality mini is a bargain.
being able to game on good quality tables for no, or little charge is a bargain.
i realy would like to see all of the people who bitch about the price rises constantly, go into business for themselves, it will wake you up, it did with me.

Since I\'m not buying anymore armies and only buying what I intend to paint, I\'m being far more selective and therefore spending a lot less.

Sorry but much of that is just bollocks. GW have been cranking prices above and beyond inflation for years. It\'s got f*** all to do with GB, they\'ve been struggling for ages. You\'re paying to keep their outdated business model afloat.
I\'ll guarantee that anyone around these parts who did go into business wouldn\'t be stupid enough to open a retail chain.
You can apologise for them as much as you like, but basically, year on year, they\'re selling less and less product whilst continually cranking prices to try to keep themselves profitable. It\'s totally unsustainable and it\'s suicide. They need to SERIOUSLY rethink how they do business if they want to be around in 10 years time.

I like GW, I like the mini\'s, I like the game, I like the backstory and I have disposable income to waste on them.
I have no other hobby which cost me less, fencing, martial arts, video games ect are all expensive
ie £200 on a new fencing jacket or £120 on three new video games.........Oh and stick you hand up if you throw money into EVE or WOW each month.
Im also buying a £500 HD tv i dont frikkin need........all because I want one.
Simple fact is I enjoy my hobbies and im happy to hand over cash in return for that enjoyment, GW are a business and need to be financially viable.
I think if you can honestly say that the minis you\'ve painted and played vs your mates with weren\'t worth the money then you probably need a new hobby...........even at GW prices![]()
I went out to prove you wrong, but you\'re right.Originally posted by generulpoleaxe
They are still more healthy than people think, just not as healthy as they should be due to a lot of wastefull spending over the years.

makes more sense than most posts here..
nobody is forcing anybody to pay.. Hobbys are optional people ....
Not making excuses for GW .. their business model is really on a knife edge and simply doesn\'t work for this kind of business.. It may have done twenty years ago but the internet has changed all that.. The retail stores cost a fortune and even more of a joke is that I can\'t go in there and buy what I need .. I have o Mail order it which means going back into the shop again .. so two round trips on the bus cost £6.40 ... I pay £8-10 for a single mini.... let\'s sayx 5 so £50 making the total cost £56.40 or ... I sit on my ass click a ouple of buttons and buy 5 x £6.99 with free postage on ebay .. same odels same quality same condition less pissing around £34.96 .. It\'s a no brainer... and I can make a short trip and reach 5 stores...
They could save and make so much money potentialy by closing down the whole retail stores side and increasing online services. which Is why I believe GW will never die ..
As for the proposed prices sounds like it\'s a bit of a hike.. Currently plastic boxes at £12-15 are great value look at cold ones , chaos knights., but if they jump up to the proposed £25 that is a hell of a jump to justify. but as always it\'s the simple matter of choice. As Mike says it really isn\'t an illness.

Kind of off-topic, anyone hear a rift building between Forge World and GW.Though the grapevine, I hear that GW is going to stop selling FW. I see alot of the FW models being done in plastic.

i suggest if you guys really want to get the ball rolling, consider contacting fil, razza or others on here and have them relay a message to rick priestley or jervis johnson and see if they could join in a forum discussion on this or even a debate between three people. a GW employee like rick or jervis, a store owner of an LGS, and someone on here.
send an email and see what happens. then whenever someone starts another thread on this (i for one am guilty at one time) we can direct others to a thread with a good debate on it.
