So what about all those little rhymes that you get taught as a kid to learn the order of the planets! There gonna have to re-write them all! lol

Its a good thing! The more information we know, and the more scientists are willing to correct past errors (and not hang onto them out of nostalgia), the better we are as a society.

Don\'t worry in a few more years you will have forgotten them anyway!
Hey, it was only a \"planet\" due to some clever marketing of the students of the guy who first theorized its existence anyway. He predicted there would be a 9th planet, so when a chunk of ice the size of a large comet was found in the Kuiper belt, his fans said AHA! (even though it wasn\'t actually where the guy predicted it and was much much smaller)Originally posted by wiccanpony

Look Vincent if you are just going to use logic and reason and stuff then this thread is just going to degenerate!
Besides didn\'t name Mickey Mouses dog after the planet? What\'s going to happen now I ask you - WHAT?

I\'d rather have all those funky new planets.
And so is Pluto! Pluto is smaller than our moon, so I think calling it a planet is stretching it...Originally posted by DrEvilmonki
