Not been up to much myself of late, too much "real" stuff to do, however i am soooo glad i looked in to the forums and saw this.

This is looking really good, i love the spine.

Thanks MM! Aw!! I'm blushing over here. lol! One thing I was thinking, why not put a little bling here and there on the minis? I don't mean go over the top or use the gaudy, obviously fake rhinestones. But the natural crystals add just a small touch. Heck, even on regular minis, it would be a little "cool factor" to put a crystal or two on the base or on a staff, or whatever. Because I can get the tiny tiny stuff, it's not like it's expensive or anything. And putting one or two on a mini could be like a little signature thing. Krazy Kath - known for pigments and crystals. :rotfl:

I love how much more interesting the dragon looks with real spikes rather than the modelled ones! And I have to admit, having stuff like gems or stones in a model or base is a cool idea.
Just to add to any crazy ideas you may have... http://www.bestcrystals.com/geodesbyo.htm stones sold to be smashed into little bits!

Oh cool Aesu! We used to break open geodes in science class when I was a kid. I'm also saving that site because if you look at their rough stones, they have 1 lbs. bags for cheap. Next time I want to buy some, I'll check those out.

I followed up on your idea to check places for jewelry/bead selections. Stupid small towns! Even Beaumont didn't have crap. Everything was processed, polished, faceted...you know, looked completely man made. So I came back and hit the internet again. Anyways, thank you so much for the site! I've got it bookmarked now. I'm glad you like the dragon!

Ultimately, it depends on how it turns out, but yeah, that's the plan. I want to enter the Marauder Horsemen in regiment and maybe this Balthalzar Gelt on his pegasus in individual. And just because I have so many LOTR minis, I would like to enter something in that division too.

That is going to be awesome when it is done. Glad I am not having to compete against it! Just a word of advice, DO NOT VARNISH it! It may screw up the stones and crystals. Use brush on if you have to.

Heya crys! Well, I ran into a slight snag with the smaller gems being too hard for me to break. But I managed to figure out a way to get them in the shape I wanted so I'm getting ready to pick him up again.

BTW - I still have some horses to finish for you. Sorry it's taking me so long but between real life and going back to school, I'm swamped. I'll get 'em done as soon as I can! Sorry!!!!
