What brands of hot teas to my friends across the pond prefer?

We\'ve got Bigelow, Twinnings & Bencheley available locally.

I drink Twinnings Earl Grey.

And if there is none of that then Yorkshire Tea is nice.

Don\'t know what brands I buy... I buy tea leaves by the hectogram. Speaking of tea... I\'m going to go get me a cup.

If I have a choice, Glengettie in the morning and during the day, Twinings Earl Grey in the afternoon and evening.

I\'ll make do with PG tips, however, as they come in ridiculously huge boxes and last me a while, even at the rate at which I drink tea! It\'s not impossible to buy tea in Germany, but your choices are: affordable-but-nasty stuff in small packets, nice high-quality stuff from expensive specialist shops or expensive-import stuff from English speciality shops.

The Brits in my office get together periodically and order \"proper\" British products from a handy website called www.britishcornershop.co.uk. Their maximum weight allowance is 30kg, so we split that between whoever wants in. I ordered about 4 different kinds of tea the first time I was in on the order!

while i appreciate better quality tea, i am happy with tetly and pg tips for day-to-day cuppas

I\'ve taken to tea just recently.

Make myself a thermos to take to work everyday.

Is there really a difference in brands? I mean I just dunk a \'Lipton\' tea bag in a whole thermos full of boiling water, and it tastes great. Am I missing the rest of the iceberg by just having the tip?

Vike, I too have been bitten by the tea bug. There is a world of diffences between brands here. Celestial Seasonings is pretty gross. Twinnings Earl Gray and Lady Gray (I cannot tell the diffence) is better than Bigelow Earl Gray.

My current fav is Bencheley Black Currant.

I don\'t actually drink hot drinks myself but I constantly need to buy tea for the Mrs. As I\'m the one that does the shopping she gets what she\'s given. Lately I\'ve been buying PG tips purely for the free monkey goodies. At the moment it seems to be a free beanie.

Stash double-spice chai and double bergamot Earl Grey It\'s all about the double-something.

I know some of the older members will remember the little Wade china figurines that used to come in tea boxes... those are worth quite a bit now!

In an attempt to better my health I have cut out Coffee & only drink about a regular cup a day.

Now Im trying teas & Herbal Blends.

THE BEST SO FAR IS : Celestial Seasonings Herbal Chai Coconut...

Sounds wacked I know but, it is the best with 3 bags you can cut it with a knife....Rich

For a more traditional Taste I dig : REPUBLIC OF TEAS - Green tea with Cherry Blossom. I take it up a notch with some Powder form Green Tea concentrate from Fuzi of Japan....Good & good for ya...

Or just cup of Earl Grey from Bigalow - or anyone...

I ADORE tea, and it MUST be served the British way - lots of sugar and even more cream.

Some good one\'s I have tried -

Taylors of Harrowgate - one of the best Earl Grey\'s I\'ve tried.

Typhoo - A good Assam. Good price too.

Red Rose and Lipton\'s aint that bad either.

Here in California coffee houses are the rage and some of them sell tea in bulk. You can get some good tea at a good price. Forget buying the bulk from Peets. The tea aint bad but it\'s WAY over priced.

Between $5 and $8 per 1/4 pound are about the average for some good tea.
