I don\'t get what\'s so much worse about heat. Cold will kill you just as fast, in the right amounts. And you cannot just keep adding layers of clothes, that\'s a myth perpetrated by the apparel industry. Eventually mobility becomes an issue. Have you ever tried painting with gloves on? I can\'t even tie my shoes with the Isotoner gloves, let alone gloves that actually keep your hands warm. I feel like a 2 year old.
Perhaps you folks just don\'t know how to get cool. In the summer if it gets hot you shed a layer. Then you are down to you undies. If the heat necessitates, you lose those too. And if you\'re still too hot God has given us water for to swim in. Ah, it\'s like water! And if you haven\'t got any water about, your body will make it for you in the form of sweat.
See, your body is prepared to be in the heat. It makes sweat to cool you off. Your body is not prepared to be in the cold. When you get cold your body shivers. Shivering increases the heat in your body by burning more calories. And what does that do? It melts away the very fat that is supposed to protect you from the cold. See? Our bodies are stupid about cold.
Your body wants you to live in the heat. So EVERYBODY, come live in Georgia where our temperature rarely gets below 0 degrees Celcius. Where the humidity is routinely above 90%. Sure we have tornados. And frequent flooding. And now, it would seem tropical storms and hurricanes. And it\'s true we had a 4.0 earthquake last year. And, inspite of the fact that it rains almost twice as much in Atlanta as London, we still suffer from drought almost constantly. And the drought causes quite a few forest fires. And yes, we have West Nile carrying mosquitoes year round. And last summer there was a small outbreak of rabbies. And lightning is a bit of a problem. Not to mention gangs. And the traffic is out of hand.
Ok, so perhaps Georgia is an aquired taste. But, it isn\'t cold. Usually.
