Hey folks,
I\'m planning out the next few contests (yes, multiple) for the near future and I\'m trying to come up with themes in general.
Unlike the last Wyrd Painting Contest where a single miniature was chosen, I\'m going to open it up as a theme in general. I\'ve got a few ideas that I thought I would float past ya\'ll and I\'m asking for some ideas in return. Catchy \'phrases\' are the word of the day!
So, ideas that I\'ve had so far are:
1. Creature Feature. This would be all creatures, monsters and anything not remotely human\'ish.
2. Guys with Guts, or one that I really liked (TAB came up with this one), Boys with Balls! The last of course is completely out of the PC league so I\'m not sure about that one - hehe - does make me laugh though. Basically, anything Male - generally humanoid.
3. Undead Fandango (eh - needs a better name I think). Anything and everything undead. If its dead and it walks, it fits in this catagorie.
4. Creep Feature (again, name ...?) This could almost be combined with the undead one, but I was thinking of running it around the Halloween holiday - witches, warlocks, vampires, pumpkins with butcher knives ... you get the idea.
Anyhow, some of ya\'ll have a knack with words, or more to the point, minds slightly more twisted than some, and I\'m interested in ideas and tag lines to go with them.
I\'m more or less staying away from a \'Chick\' theme as I think Chick Challenge should have that all to its lonesdom as Jason does a fantastic job with it (hey, its practically its own institution).
Right now I\'m planning on running four contests a year, with six-seven weeks announcement-painting time and one to two weeks voting. After that, about a month \'off\' as the website is updated, prizes are sent out and sponsorship is secured for the next.

). The catagories as defined sound cool. I assume you\'re referecing Grim Fandango with the Undead Fandango thing? Why not just call it Grim Fandango (it has a better ring, I think) and go from there? As for entries, would the Rackham mini The Watcher (big, badass man-wolf thing) be non-human enough to fit into Creature Feature? And where would a hand-scuplted Jack Skellington (from The Nightmare Before Chirstmas) belong? Might you have a separate catagory for a single mini for those that want to try it? I\'d go for that, assuming it was a mini I could get ahold of...my (largley irrelevant and uneducated) thoughts.
