Nice job on the pinup.

I like what you're doing with the dwarf. The metal has an interesting look. I'd keep at it a bit more and then use pigments to make the whole thing look rusty.

looking good, nice base use Zabs advice and use some washes to darken the shadows make it look dirty. great work on the pin up, got any close ups, my wife thinks it looks neat.

Update on the dwarf.. Worked more on the rusting and the leather boot. I'm trying to figure out how to base him.. Any suggestions? Comments are always welcomed. Thanks.

Looking at the figure from the front I didn't see the leather boot until I read the comments. To me it's a bit lost against the skin tone and could do with being a touch darker.
I've recently been doing some drawing studies in a local museum and the Ancient leather is almost black, while the Antique/Aged leather is a dark brown. I'd suggest that using a tonal wash with something like VMC Leather brown or Chocolate brown may help.

Blades look nice. Some kind of barren wasteland or a rocky outcrop fro the base.

I would look at putting him on something tht mirrors the lines of blade. E.g. Standing on a long gnarly limb jutting out of the ground or coffin on edge.

How did you do the the rust effect. I want to try it on my skaven grey seer.

Digganob - I based the metal with Vallejo Oily Steel. Thin wash of black, then while it was still wet, stippled it with a piece of foam. Then I added thin glazes of Agrax Earthshade and secret weapon's Algae washes. Then I slightly dry brushed the edges with reaper rust brown. Next was a think layer of satin varnish. After the varnish was dry, I mixed secret weapon's pigments - Dark Earth and Rust Red in roughly 50-50 and applied it to the blades. I went a little overboard with the smaller axe, but a little clean water fixed that up. After that step, I just poked some of the dark rust with a brush full of pure Rust Red. Blew off the excess with some canned air, and the blade is ready for another thin varnish to seal it.

Finished up the undead dwarf.. He was one of my entries at Adepticon. I think I was ranked 14th out of 30 something, but I'm super stoked about that. Last year, 2 of my entries were 2nd and 3rd from last, so I will take 14th with a smile. Next year's goal is to be in the top 10.. Hopefully..
