Matt\'s 24 Hour Painting Thread

@bayrodney - good question. Honestly I\'m not sure. At the moment I\'m doing a brass colour basecoat for gold - on the triangular bit at the front of the helmet and on the various fleur de lys. Then there are the pouches and straps, which will be done in some kind of mid brown. The icon bearer has a few extra bits like the bones etc. Beyond that I can start to think about twiddly bits like maybe doing a few simple bits of freehand at the edges of the robes. Of course, since there are seven more of these to do - whatever I do on these I have to do on them

Anyhow, I\'m halfway through the gold basecoat, and I think it\'s about time I grabbed some lunch. I\'ll post some more pics at around 2pm after a couple of coats on the gold.

Time: 12:11am
Total Mugs of Coffee: 6
Music: Radio 1
Total coats done: 19 1/2

Rightio, got all the gold bits basecoated. I reckon the helmets look better with the gold on, breaks them up a bit rather than having such a large amount of gunmetal colour. Hopefully I\'m enough ahead of schedule now to kick back and regain a bit of sanity. I\'ll get going again around 6 or 7 tonight and aim to get them finished completely by midnight.

Time: 2:22pm

Total coats done: 20

Thats looking awesome
I agree with you on the gold on the Helmet, a lot of Gunmetal in one place is not always a good thing.

:D:D
Keep going:)

Keep us updated

Makes me want to paint my Sisters!

Lookin\' good Matt. Looking very good considering the speed.

If you start to flag and you still have work to do I\'d suggest a shower, really helps to freshen one up if you\'re pulling an all-nighter.

Pardon the pedantic aside: colour wheel actually says cyan/turquoise (depends on the shade of red). Green is opposite magenta.

I have no problem with you being precise for sure you to me are the god of paint and its composition.
Please guide me to a better color wheel if there is a brand name I have a little hokey wheel that is made by the color wheel company, http://www.colorwheelco.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TCWC&Product_Code=3451&Category_Code=CW
Could be I am really dumb and reading it wrong as well I sure would not rule that out.
I will be hunting online for a better on now for sure. Thank you

Took some time out to try the army out in a game. They put up a good defence, but it was a minor loss in the end. The game also involved me rolling 6 2s in an attempt to save 6 wounds on a marine squad, nice

I think I\'m going to call it a night on painting these models. I was hoping to get some more done, but I don\'t want to mess them up at this late stage.

Time for a well earned beer I think. I\'ll get back to them tommorow, I can\'t leave it too long as I also have to get a tank and seven more Sisters done for a week on saturday. I\'ll get some more pics posted to this thread as I get them done. Cheers for all the support guys, it\'s been great fun

KingM, I just have no idea how you paint to a reasonable standard that quickly. No idea at all. Incredible.

How about this one? The article it comes from is >>here<<. More than you ever, ever, ever wanted to know about colour, I bet even Einion could learn something from that article.

Todd just looked over my shoulder and reminded me I read a color theory book as to this information from the library. I must have been too busy trying to understand the stuff then looking at the pictures.

I seriously thank you Einion for taking the time pointing this out or I would have been further delayed in this knowledge.

I thank you so much Modderrhu I owe you big on this, I love it.
Promise I will read the whole site piece buy piece over time... right after I print this chart out :)

Awesome!

Thanks KingM.

I\'ve really enjoyed seeing the fine (rapid) progress you\'ve been making on your mini army. Very cool!

I must say that out of all the threads here at CMoN lately I\'ve loved this one the most. It\'s nice to see a good ol\' fashioned miniature painting thread for a change.

Love your work.
