I\'d like to believe it has something to do with my ridiculously high IQ or my 85% retention of read material, but really I just spend way too much time on the internet looking at toy soldiers. :rolleyes:

I was talking to the great Tom Dye of Minifigs here in the US and I pointed him to this thread.
He owns all the molds to some old line that Minifigs has had in their possesion for awhile and he says he has figure molds for the following: Quote:

1. Townsfolk
2. Drunks (we have \'em!)
3. Accessories (RE: Our Fantascenes line)
4. Nosepickers, etc.
5. Knights w/flat shields...various \"level\" character types
6. REAL CHEZZY Sci-Fi figs (like \"Buck Rogers\" from the 30-40\'s?) 8>)
7. Casualties (can also pass for passed out drunks!)
8. Seated figures.
9. Outhouse w/Medieval man reading a scroll (Tom\'s Outhouse!)
10. loads of loose weapons and shields for those who wish to customize.
11. New \"mount\" types (You are getting some....the large Ratling Mounts)
12. 3-4 stage dragons (from hatchlings to juveniles!)

I don\'t think it\'s too hard to argue that there has been a rebirth of role playing games as well as miniature gaming in the last few years - particularly with a fantasy bent. Can we as hobbyista support Tom in this?

If you are interested, go on over to .www.minifigs.com and post in the forums there . . OR drop him a line with anything you are interested in - he\'s got all kinds of stuff just waiting to see some demand for.

The 3-4 stage dragons sound cool- always need more dragons :D

They\'d have to be pretty good quality though- if they are very old figure molds then that may be an issue.

I thought of something else for GW fans:

Lord Mazdamundi on his stegadon would be a figure I\'d like to see. Also a Spinosaur model for the lizardmen army. 100 kingdoms has one coming out at some point which I will probably get too.

Hey people, I just joined. I am a big fan of the site and people\'s work here.

So, Monty Python would be a great idea! They could even market it in a similar way to the LOTR stuff (green tint photos of epic Monty Python scenes). It would be a marvelous parody.

I would also like to see a line of stone age warriors. Reaper has a couple, and there is always conversion of the Foundry naked warriors (pick your genre), but some animal-skin-wearing, long-haired, flint-spear-wielding savages might be cool.

Also, primative Kroots would look cool. Kroot barbarians/savages!

Some 28mm Aliens (movie) inspired figures would be sweet. I have a few of the 25mm leading edge ones already.

Mostly, I\'d like to see some representations of the characters and more generic \'races\' from Harry Harrison books, especially the Deathworld trilogy. some of the Pyrrhans would rock, as well as a few of the tundra-world lizard riders. I can just see a nice skirmish game emerging involving the phyrran city defenses against the massed hordes of psychic lifeforms...

Oh, and whilst it\'s obvious and probably a bit lame, I\'d love some really nice 28 or 54 mil Discworld figs.

Just my £0.0127797 (or 2 cents...)

Man that\'d be an interesting physical speciminelol

And if you do a google search for \"rincewind miniature\" I think you\'ll find a company that makes a ton of them -including Windle Poons!- but I can\'t find scale and I\'m not real pleased by a lot of them. Still, they apparently all get approved by Pratchett before going into production.

I reckon so. I think with the two right arms, chicken (or lizard?) foot and so on, it\'d have some interesting rules.

I\'d like to see Reaper do some sci-fi minis that are not part of the CAV line. Y\'know, people wit\' lasers, aliens, that sort of thing. I know Void is out there, I\'d just like to see what Reaper\'s sculptors would do with it.

Bill the Galactic Hero would be SO bowbing easy to make out of a few GW plastic Catachans. Dunno about the chicken foot but that\'d be fairly easy to make out of green stuff. If you wanted to get really detail-oriented you could use a vampire head from somewhere so he\'d have the fangs too!

What\'s stopping you from using a Catachan with two right arms and classic looking guns? The fang would be hard to do. Other classic literary figures would be easy, though.. Stainless Steel Rat would be done in almost full NMM... :p

How about humorous orcs? One of da boyz peering down the barrel of his big shoota wondering why it didn\'t go bang,
a gobbo skateboarding on a line behind a biker,
a runtherder being overrun by dozens of snotlings...

Actually the skateboarding gobbo is a work in progress, it may even get finished one day.:rolleyes:
